The sub-series consists of glass plate photographic negatives created by a topographical surveying party headed first by R.D. McCaw, B.C.L.S. (June and July) and then by L.A. Austen-Leigh (August) in 1941, working on behalf of the Topographic Division of the Department of Lands. Assistant Mr. McRae was responsible during the absence of McCaw from July 20th until the arrival of Austen-Leigh on August 29th. The sub-series may include photographs of and/or taken from the following locations: Taylor River, Kennedy River, Stamp River, Klitsa Range. The items are arranged based on the creator's numbering of the plates (plate number - original plate box number).
