Correspondence, time books and other material

Series consists of letters inward, 1924-1937, relating to gold mining ventures, principally the development of Cariboo Gold Quartz Mining Company; time books, assay reports, financial records, prospectuses and circular letters to stockholders, papers relating to the Surf Inlet Gold Mines, 1912-1919.

Fred Marshall Wells was a prospector and mine manager in Wells, B.C.

The fonds consists of personal and business correspondence relating to gold mining ventures, principally the development of Cariboo Gold Quartz Mining Company, time books, reports, financial records and circular letters to stockholders. Also contains papers relating to the Surf Inlet Gold Mines, 1912-1919.

Scrapbook containing newspaper clippings, brochures, letters and photographs relating to the Cariboo Gold Quartz Mining Co., Wells, B.C., Barkerville, B.C., and to Fred Wells, O.H. Solibakke and Dr. W.B. Burnett (Mine developers).

Scrapbooks

Scrapbooks: Volumes 1-2 (1928-1962) contain articles on the Company; gold in the Cariboo; the Company's founders O.H. Solibakke, Fred Wells and W.B. Burnett; and other items. Volume 3 covers the Cariboo Miners strike 1937, the British Columbia Chamber of Mines, health insurance, the Kiwanis and miscellaneous items (mostly 1937-1938). Volumes 4-6 are on the Company (1937-1941). Volume 7 deals with articles on the Cariboo Amalgamated Gold Mines 1933-1939 and the Cariboo-Hudson Gold Mines, 1936-1940.
