Series consists of photographs acquired by the Chief Geographer of the British Columbia Geographic Division, notably George Griffiths Aitken. The photographs consist of black and white prints and negatives showing different types of topography and land use taken between 1950 and 1953. Series also includes photographs of a war memorial dedicated to civil servants who died in World War I, a panoramic view of Vancouver Harbour, a Christmas card from 1916 from the Surveyor General's office made up of four negatives mounted on paper and a file from 1937-1938 containing photographs used in a commemorative brochure about the visit of John Buchan, 1st Baron Tweedsmuir and Governor General of Canada, to Tweedsmuir Park.
