Although slide stock from both the Ministry of Health and the Forest Service were used, the show seems to be a general one showing various images of BC. It is unclear which government department actually created the slide show and why.

The series consists of six photograph albums created by the Division of Visual Education between 1947 and 1969, containing ca. 5100 photographs. This agency was responsible for providing media services to public education institutions. The records document school sites and educational programs for elementary, secondary, college and university students in British Columbia.

Subjects often relate to specific classes and schools, and include: projects and performances; facilities; ceremonies; teachers, staff and government officials; students; and displays and exhibits for promotional purposes.

The series consists of photographic negatives, possibly produced by PEMC, and predecessor agencies including the Division of School of Radio Broadcasts, Division of Visual Education, Division of Audio-Visual Services and Audio-Visual Services Branch. These agencies were responsible for providing media services to public education institutions. The records document school sites and educational programs for vocational program students in British Columbia.

Photographs are arranged alphabetically by subject and show students participating in various vocational programs located throughout the province. Locations are often provided in photograph annotations. Photographs are generally ordered within subject using a system of abbreviations and numbers ie) AE stands for aeronautics, and AU stands for automotive.

Emergency Health Services training slides

The series consists of slide shows created by the Emergency Health Services Commission between 1978 and 1980. The slide shows cover a variety of training exercises of the E.H.S. including: training sequences, rescue training over rough terrain and disaster planning exercises at Campbell River and Victoria International airport.. The series also includes slides of the aftermath of a real disaster; the 1978 Cranbrook air crash of PWA flight 314. This slide show is accompanied by a slide script and an audio cassette tape.

Film and Photographic Branch travel industry and tourism photographs

The series consists of photographic negatives and prints produced by the Film and Photographic Branch and its predecessor agencies including the Dept of Trade and Industry and the photographic branches of the Dept. of Recreation and Conservation and Dept. of Travel Industry between 1943 and 1985.

The series consists of still photographs, both colour and black and white, created for tourist promotion and provincial publicity; for the requirements of other departmental branches; and for the requirements of other government departments. The records document people, scenery, local industry and events in BC. Subjects include fishing, logging, agricultural and manufacturing activities, facilities and equipment, employees and craftspeople, cities, towns, and villages, citizens, ferries, historical buildings and tourist sites, schools, museums and tourist bureaux, offices, fairs and parades, livestock, geographical features (such as mountains, rivers and seascapes), bridges and highways, stops of interest signs, recreational activities (such as skiing, fishing and boating) and aerial photographs of settlements and regions.

There are also promotional images of a varied non-geographical nature, subjects include politicians and civil servants, BC products, flags, government facilities and staff, unidentified RCMP officers, industrial activities, and wildlife. There are three main subsets of the records, colour photographs arranged by the regional category and non-geographic subjects and then by number; black and white photographs arranged by the regional category and non-geographic subjects and then by number with a "B" prefix; black and white "archived" photographs arranged by regional category and non-geographic subjects and then by number with a "B" prefix and an "A" attached to the number.

There are printed item level indexes to the colour and the "archived" black and white photographs and a list of photographs and black and white copy prints of politicians and civil servants. These indexes and copy prints are in container 002340-0510.

The series consists of Forest Service personnel photographic prints and negatives created by the British Columbia Forest Service between 1913 and 1982. The photographs are arranged alphabetically by the last name of the employee. The photo prints are mounted on cards which contain the title, the Oxford Forest classification number, the Forest Service photo number, the photographer's name and the date the photo was taken. The negatives are arranged alphabetically. The negatives have been removed from the original glassine negative sleeves. These sleeves, which often have notes written on them, have been preserved.

The series consists of photographic negatives, prints, and transparencies created by the Ministry of Forests and its predecessors including the Forest Service and Forest Branch. Series documents forest service personnel and activities relating to forest planning, protection and inventory; engineering; rangelands management and use; recreation resource management and use; research; and timber harvesting. Subjects often relate to specific forest districts, and include trees and other botanical specimens (specific species and their characteristics), stands and forests, aircraft and watercraft, buildings and facilities (such as mills, nurseries and laboratories), employees, equipment and tools, experimental projects, forest fires and fire control, geographic features (such as mountains and rivers), logging practices, pests and diseases, railways and roads, tree planting, wildlife, and vehicles.

The photographs are arranged numerically by FS file numbers FS00001 - FS25983. The photo prints are mounted on cards which contain the title, the Oxford Forest classification number, the Forest Service photo number, the photographer's name and the date the photo was taken. Not every negative was printed. The photographer might take between one and six photographs within a file and either some or none of the negatives were printed and mounted on cards.
The negatives are arranged numerically by FS file number. The negatives from number FS10509 onwards have been removed from the original glassine negative sleeves. These sleeves often have notes written on them and have been preserved as part of the series.

The series consists of film and videos of government documentaries, television advertisements, and other promotional material from the period of 1980 to 1986. The Ministry of Government Services' Government Information Services (GIS) was the centralized government agency for producing audio-video programs for all ministries and JEM Productions was contracted by the GIS to shoot and edit various programs.

This series represents provincial government functions and events representing various regions of British Columbia, including the lower mainland, Peace River and Okanagan regions.

The records consist of 10 videos and 1 film comprising current government initiatives and accomplishments; coal mining and dam developments; BC Place and BC Transit development; a 1986 premier's address; and development of the Coquihalla highway.
