Carl Lowenberg's place of business, Victoria BC. Associated information provided by the donor, Snap No. 3: "Carl Lowenberg was a Commission merchant as well as acting German Consul and for some time previous to the outbreak of War his business premises and Consulate were situate [sic] on the Westerly side of Wharf Street betweem [sic] Bastion Square and Yates street and somewhere about the position of the white doors shown in the Snap. They were in that building I feel sure. The white doors have been put in recently. The snap was taken from the West side of Wharf Street in front of the Old Hudson's Store. It looks easterly and shows the corner of Bastion Square and Wharf Street. This was one of the places raided during the riots consequent on the sinking of the Lusitania. During the raid the stock of samples, etc was looted and destroyed.
