Item consists of one poster with three colour photographs. "A salute to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police by the Saanich Municipal Police Dept 1873-1973 PNE Vancouver, B.C. Victoria Day Parade" is printed on the poster. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Saanich Police badges are stamped in black and hand coloured.
The item is a composite print of an industrial film made in 1974. It depicts the B.C. Alternative Energy Show at the 1974 Pacific National Exhibition. Excerpts from the public seminars are shown, along with scenes of exhibits, displays and demonstrations dealing with energy conservation and alternative energy sources (solar, wind, geothermal, etc.), electric vehicles, appropriate technology, and so on.
Children's program. Four boys visit HMCS "Fraser", where an officer explains aspects of the ship's bridge, armaments, galley and wheelhouse. Barney Potts shows fireman's hat and horn. Boy's are introduced to balloon flight at the Pacific National Exhibition.
Out-takes. A record of the 1956 PNE in Vancouver. These outs include general views of Exhibition Park, miscellaneous scenes on the fairgrounds, the midway games and rides, the Miss PNE pageant, agricultural exhibits, the dog show, a fashion show and the horse races, as well as the PNE parade.
