He discusses the formation of the Board of Trade to build the road to Bella Coola in 1952, the attitude of people towards the road, how the pulp mill was used as justification for the building of the road, the paperwork involved in building the road, the financial aspects including the work of Phil Gaglardi, the ;support of businessmen, and various characters involved including Elijah Gurr and Blondie Swanson. TRACK 2: Wallace Stiles continues speaking about an incident involving Blondie Swanson, the telegraph trail, plans for a proposed pulp mill and sawmill, tourism, road use and road conditions.
