This series contains records of game biologists of the Game Management Division and the Wildlife Management Division, consisting of annual reports, monthly reports of the Chief Game Biologist and various regional game biologists, and special reports. The latter are a memoranda entitled "Required expansion of the Game Management Division, 1959-1969" and a copy of a report submitted by the division's Director, Ten Year Plan 1963-1973.

Kamloops Forest Region operational records

This series contains operational records of the Kamloops Forest Region and its predecessor, the Kamloops Forest District from 1951-1983. The Kamloops Forest Region has included a variety of different Ranger Districts or smaller Forest Districts over time. The records in this series relate to several, including the Chase, Barriere, Clearwater and Kamloops Ranger Districts. Note that the names and boundaries of districts and regions varied over the years.

The records are arranged according to the original filing number used at the Kamloops office. Records relate to grazing range management, timber management, and other administrative records of the office. This includes grazing permits; timber sale and harvesting licences; tree farm licences; firewood permits; road permits; plantations; reforestation; scaling and royalty records; and annual work charts.

This series also includes the accounts of the Kamloops Forest District, a subdivision of the Kamloops Forest Region, successor to Ranger Districts 3 (Barriere), 4 (Kamloops), 16 (Ashcroft) and 22 (Kamloops North) of the former Kamloops Forest District, and a guide to the Kamloops Regional 0 series.

Orders are the formal expression of the ruling of the court and judgements are the final orders issued in a case. Records relate to a variety of civil matters including divorces, probates, foreclosures, and some adoptions.

Records are arranged by volume and folio number as assigned by the court registry. Orders and judgements are interfiled. The records were scheduled for full retention under Court Services ORCS (schedule 100152) 51400-25.

Series consists of original civil orders and judgements created by the Penticton Supreme Court registry from March 1951 to December 1987 and April 1990 to June 1992. Orders are the formal expression of the ruling of the court and judgements are the final orders issued in a case. Records relate to a variety of civil matters including divorces, bankruptcies, probates, foreclosures, and some adoptions.

Orders and judgements are interfiled. Records up to December 1987 are arranged by volume and folio number as assigned by the court registry. Initially, folio numbers were assigned to each page of a record. Beginning July 1981, each record was assigned only one folio number. Records from 1990-1992 are arranged chronologically by entered date. The records were scheduled for full retention under Court Services ORCS (schedule 100152) 51400-25.

This series consists of records of the Commission of Inquiry Regarding Mrs. Donald Ritchie and the Loss of Her Unborn Child, 1951. Commission records include Provincial Secretary files P-5 which contain correspondence, vouchers, copy of Letters Patent appointing the commissioner, transcript of evidence presented at proceedings (original and copy) and exhibits (list of exhibits in proceedings, pp. ii-iii). Also included is the commissioner's six page typewritten unpublished report which concluded that Mrs. Ritchie was not an emergency case and the loss of her baby was not caused by the failure to admit her to hospital, although this was an appropriate case for hospitalization.

This series contains a study on the organization and administrative systems of the Forest Service together with recommendations for departmental reorganization done by Stevenson and Kellogg Ltd., Management Engineers for the Ministry of Lands and Forests, presented to E.T. Kenney, Minister of Lands and Forests, September 26, 1951. These recommendations were partially implemented by the Departmental reorganization of June 10, 1952.

Vol. 4 contains signatures of those admitted to the Order of the Dogwood, Nov. 1966 - Oct. 1980, with signatures including the British Royal Family, Major-General George Pearkes, Nancy Greene, and Terry Fox.

Photographs depict visits to Victoria and Vancouver by Prince Philip and Prince Andrew as part of a Royal tour which included the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, AB. Photos include sites visited such as the Vancouver Rowing Club, downtown Victoria and a presentation of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards held in the Legislative Assembly chamber. Also depicted are: Minister, Provincial Secretary and Travel Industry, Grace McCarthy; Mike Young (Mayor of Victoria); Premier W.R. (Bill) Bennett, and Lieutenant Governor Henry Pybus Bell-Irving.

This series contains weekly Summary of Activities from Labour Relations Board (British Columbia), 1951-1954, and Department of Labour, Labour Relations Branch, 1954-1974. The summaries include notices of appointment of and reports from conciliation officers and boards; certifications granted; and some court decisions. After 1954, it began to publish occasional notices regarding other Labour Department activities, but it remained essentially a Labour Relations Board publications. It ceased publication when the LRB was established as a separate entity from the Department.

Tree farm licence annual reports

This series consists of annual reports submitted by the holders of tree farm licences. Each tree farm licence requires the licensee to submit an annual report. The licensee must report on:

  1. their performance over the previous calendar year in relation to its management of the licence area and their obligations under the licence,
  2. their success in meeting their management objectives, including all employment and economic activities,
  3. the processing or other use or disposition of the timber harvested under the licence, and,
  4. their goals and major initiatives for the next calendar year.

The series is arranged annually by the tree farm licence number. The reports have been placed in file folders which, in some cases, also contain copies of correspondence between ministry staff, and/or the Licensee and references to the applicable “0” lands file. Some of the reports contain attached photographs to provide additional information.

Deputy Provincial Secretary films

The series consists of motion picture film prints accumulated by L.J. (Lawrie) Wallace during his tenure as Deputy Provincial Secretary (1959-1977). Wallace was responsible for organizing British Columbia's celebrations in to mark the 1958, 1966, and 1971 centennials, as well as the B.C. component of the 1967 Canadian cetennial celebrations. Most of the these film document the celebrations of these various centennials and associated special events. The series includes several films produced by or for the Government of British Columbia, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and the National Film Board of Canada, as well as individual fitles by various other production companies. Non-centennial-related titles include the travelogues "Beautiful British Columbia" (BC Government Travel Bureau, 1952), "Highway North" (Royalite Oil Company, 1957?), and "A Day of Fun in the Historical Town of Barkerville" (Werner Aellen for the Barkerville Restoration Advisory Committee, ca. 1963).
