By-laws (nos. 1-78) from the Corporation of the District of Central Saanich signed by Reeves Sydney Pickles (1951-1954) and H. Rupert Brown (1955-1957). Also a copy of a zoning map of Central Saanich showing commercial and industrial designations and an alphabetical index to these by-laws.

This series consists of plaint and procedure books from the Victoria County Court. The first 4 volumes include lists of interpleaders, commitment summonses, executions (civil), defendants' applications to set aside proceedings, garnishee summonses, judgement summonses and replevin. Some volumes are indexed.
This series consists of record books from the Victoria County Court, 1879-1888. Records include journals, ledgers, and a letterbook of correspondence outward, written by A.F. Pemberton, County Court Judge, Dec. 1879 - Dec. 1880; Edwin Leigh, Registrar, Feb. 1883 - Nov. 1884; and Harvey Combe, Acting Registrar, Jan. 1885 - Nov. 1886.
The series consists of microfilmed copies of the Victoria Court of Appeal order volumes 2-7; 1915 to 1947 and bound order volumes 8-15 for the period 1948 to 1975.
The records consist mainly of orders in response to motions for leave to appeal lower court judgements and sentences, and include both civil and criminal matters. They are bound in folio number order by volume with a nominal index at the front of each volume.

Creditor's relief procedure book (indexed); includes the file number, name of claimant, name of debtor, chronological entry of proceedings, amount of the debt, and costs.
This series consists of property tax assessment rolls and other records related to real estate or land tax in Victoria and the surrounding area. The records range in date from 1865-1886. The records may have been created by local government tax Assessors and Collectors, or the Surveyor of Taxes. Property tax assessment rolls are administered according to the Taxation Act and the Public Schools Act for the collection of real property taxes, income taxes, school taxes etc. Records record the name of the property owner, date, a description of the property and its value. Some records include additional information or also document the collection of fees related to trade licences, liquor licences, fire insurance companies, etc.
The fonds consists of membership roll of the various companies of the Victoria Fire Department, correspondence, indentures, annual report, and ledger listing equipment and fires in the city, as well as accounts and receipts. This series consists of a charge and sentence book from Victoria Gaol, 1904-1914. Information recorded includes date entered, name, date of sentence, charge, admitting officer, time and date prisoner received, sentence, by whom sentenced, property received, cash received, and receipt for propensity on discharge.
This series contains employment registers from the Victoria Gaol, 1861-1914. These volumes contain daily reports showing the prisoner's name, with or without labour, how/where employed and sometimes "remarks". The following Volumes are missing : 1 May 1900 - 16 Sep 1901 and 1 Feb 1903 - 14 Jun 1904. The final volume contains a notes that prisoners were transferred to Saanich Prison Farm on 12 Sep 1914.
