The fonds also inludes a microfilm copy of J.A. Forin's 1885 diary kept while he was a volunteer during the Northwest Rebellion, a transcript of this diary from ca. 1960 which also includes some photographs taken of the original diary and other Riel artifacts at the Queen's Own Rifles Museum in Calgary.
