Criminal case files.

Records relating to the Greenwood Electoral District: includes annotated voters lists and applications for registration (1903-1912; 1920-1945) from Anaconda, Beaverdell, Boundary Falls, Bridesville, Brown Creek, Carmi, Cascade, Christian Valley, Deadwood, Eholt, Grand Forks, Greenwood, Midway, Mother Lode Mine, Riverside and Rock Creek. These forms show occupation and place of residence and were sworn before various officials: mining recorder, police magistrate, postmaster, notary public, alderman, stipendiary magistrate, MLA, etc. There is supporting documentation, notes, some correspondence and requests to be removed from the voter's list.

Civil case files, 1925, 1927, 1941-1944 with the exception of probate/estate files (GR-2797) and appeals (GR-2799) which have been removed from this series and are filed separately.

Series consists of original civil orders and judgements created between 1922 and 1941 by the Penticton Supreme Court. Orders are the formal expression of the ruling of the court and judgements are the final orders issued in a case. Records relate to a variety of civil matters including divorces.

Court orders for civil and criminal cases fixed into a scrapbook. Includes some letters of administration from after 1921.

This series consists of Osoyoos Division of Yale Land District lot registers for lots 1-5032. Earliest entries date from 1860 and the volumes were all superseded by 1932 (i.e. no further entries were made after 1932).

The registers list lots in numerical order and record the alienation of land from the Crown (by purchase, pre-emption, lease, etc.). Information may include the name of the purchaser, dates and numbers of certificates issued (including Crown Grants), dates and amounts of payments, and reference numbers to correspondence files and field books. There is an alphabetical name index in each volume.

This series consists of Similkameen Division of Yale Land District lot registers for lots 1- 4016. The earliest entries date from 1861 and all volumes were superceded by 1932 (i.e. no further entries were made after 1932). The registers list lots in numerical order and record the alienation of land from the Crown (by purchase, pre-emption, lease, etc.). Information may include the name of the purchaser, dates and numbers of certificates issued (including Crown Grants), dates and amounts of payments, and reference numbers to correspondence files and field books. There is an alphabetical name index in each volume.

Boundary District Provincial Police files, consisting of correspondence, reports, jail calendars, vouchers, etc., from Coalmont, Fairview, Grand Forks, Greenwood, Hedley, Keremeos, Midway, Oliver, Penticton, Phoenix and Princeton, and correspondence with other police districts and with Victoria Headquarters.

These records were copied from originals loaned by the Penticton Museum in 1981. The originals had been transferred to the Penticton Museum and Archives by the Penticton area RCMP detachment. In 2006, the records were transferred to the BC Archives (accession 95-5924).

The numbered files that were microfilmed (40-1113 to 40-3500) appear to be consistent with the transferred originals. However, there are additional records on the microfilm (see the “Correspondence” and “Miscellaneous” sections in the Finding Aid).

The series consists of mining leases filed at Victoria and arranged by mining district. The records were created by the Chief Gold Commissioner between 1876 and 1930.

This series consists of records of the Water Commissioner, Fairview, B.C., related to water rights, 1873-1929. Contains copies of water grants, applications, indentures, expropriations, agreements, letters inward from the Comptroller of Water Rights and Deputy Comptroller 1919-1923; and water rights determinations by the Board of Investigation. Also includes water rights records pertaining to the Grand Forks Water District, Osoyoos Water District and the Okanagan Valley generally.

Firm declaration book (indexed) includes partnerships from Greenwood, Midway and Phoenix.

Calendar from the Corporation of the City of Grand Forks showing date and hour, name, age, place of birth, religion, trade, literacy, use of liquor, charge, office charging, name of officer charging, plea, name of presiding magistrate and details of the sentence (Duration, fine, costs). There are no entries for 1921.

The records are arranged numerically and record the alienation of land from the Crown (by purchase, pre-emption, lease, etc.). Information may include name of the purchaser, dates and numbers of certificates issued, dates and amounts of payments, and reference numbers to correspondence files and field books. The volume contains an alphabetical name index.

Minute book from Supreme and County Courts at Greenwood.

This series includes registers relating to Crown Grants, Similkameen Division and Osoyoos Division, Yale District (2 vols.) Volume 1 is a register of Crown Grant applications forwarded to Victoria and includes date and disposition of application, name and address of applicant, legal description of land, Crown Grant number. Volume 2 is a register of Crown Grants and includes date of notice, number of grant, legal description of land, payment schedule, disposition and Grown Grant number. The registers are arranged chronologically.

This series consists of the operational records of the Vernon Forest District, 1913-1924. Records include operational correspondence files of the District Forester relating to forest fires, timber marketing, timber scaling, timber marks, and forest protection generally; forest fire reports, logging inspection reports, patrol diaries, and financial records. Records also include personnel files, including six photographs.

This series consists of two Similkameen Division of Yale Land District town lot subdivision registers of District Lot 2450S, Block B and Block A, lots 1-271F, and 280-348. The records relate to irrigated lands in the southern Okanagan. Earliest entries from 1921 and bother volumes were superseded in 1923 (i.e. no further entries were made after 1923).

The records are arranged numerically, and record the alienation of land from the Crown (by purchase etc.), within the Southern Okanagan Irrigation Project at Oliver (B.C.) Information may include the name of purchaser, dates and numbers of certificates (including Crown Grant), dates and amounts of payments, and reference numbers to correspondence files, and water agreements, There is an alphabetical name index in each volume.

The series consists of records created by the Boundary Gold Commissioner between 1890 and 1922. It includes correspondence inward, records of claims, certificates of work, conveyances of claims, water record and records of free miners certificates. Records may also relate to the Kettle River and Osoyoos Mining Recorders.

Probate orders, including Letters Probate and Letters of Administration, 1901-1921.

This series consists of records of the Assistant Commissioner of Lands, Similkameen Division, Yale District, 1905-1920. Records include two volumes of declarations for Certificates of Improvement, nos. 1-182 and 183-561. The declarations give a description of improvements made on preempted lands. Some certificates are from Osoyoos Division, Yale District. There is an index at the back of each volume. Some records may relate to Vernon and Fairview as well.

This series consists of Osoyoos Division of Yale Land District Township registers for Townships 46-95. Earliest entries date from 1885 and all volumes were superseded by 1920 (i.e. no further entries were made after 1920). Original volume numbers 12 and 14 are missing.

The land is listed numerically by Sections and Townships, and records the alienation of land from the Crown (by purchase, pre-emption, lease, etc.). Information may include the name of the purchaser, dates and numbers of certificates issued (including Crown Grants), dates and amounts of payments, and reference numbers to correspondence files and field books. There is an alphabetical name index in each volume.

Series contains correspondence files relating to water licences and irrigation in the vicinities of Rock Creek and Greenwood, and the southern Okanagan valley.
