Records include operational correspondence files of the District Forester relating to forest fires, timber marketing, timber scaling, timber marks, and forest protection generally; forest fire reports, logging inspection reports, patrol diaries, and financial records. Records also include personnel files, including six photographs.

Papers of John Fall Allison and Susan Louisa Allison

The series consists of a microfilm copy of the papers of John Fall Allison and Susan Louisa Allison, pioneer ranchers in the Similkameen and Okanagan regions. Includes letters from John to his parents, 1857-1869, and manuscripts of stories; "When the river rose", "Scenes from our life in British Columbia on the Okanagan Lake", "What I know of Ogopogo" and "Memoirs of a pioneer of the 60s" and other untitled work. "Memoirs..." appears to a manuscript for a series of articles that were written by Susan L. Allison and published in the Sunday Province in 1931. The other manuscripts are undated and unsigned.

This series consists of records of the Assistant Commissioner of Lands, Similkameen Division, Yale District, 1905-1920. Records include two volumes of declarations for Certificates of Improvement, nos. 1-182 and 183-561. The declarations give a description of improvements made on preempted lands. Some certificates are from Osoyoos Division, Yale District. There is an index at the back of each volume. Some records may relate to Vernon and Fairview as well.

Archibald McKinlay Diary Part 2

File consists of the diary of Archibald McKinlay, the second part of two. The diary documents his travels in the role of reserve commissioner through the Okanagan region, and also contains copies of outward correspondence and expenses. A loose sheet in the back of the diary contains copies of letters written by James McKinlay and a list of plants.

He describes his father's background; coming to the Okanagan Valley, including the trail they took and their first impressions; Creighton Valley; impressions of the Lumby area after 1897; the people in Lumby; the French Canadian settlers; other people in the area; logging; the Richland Land Boom from 1910 to 1912; Cherry Creek gold rush and the development of Lumby. TRACK 2: Mr. Inglis continues with more on mining; the Monashee Pass area around 1900; people; school days; growing up in Lumby; his father's dairy farm; social life; the effects of World War I; Indians; encounters with various animals; the Lumby Hotel; a bank robbery in 1913; blacksmiths; hockey in Lumby, including the "Flying Frenchmen"; and French songs.

Okanagan Shuswap Forest District timber tenure records

This series consists of forest tenure records from the Okanagan Shuswap district and its predecessors, 1969-2004. This series may contain records created by the Salmon Arm Forest District, Penticton Forest District and Vernon Forest District in the Kamloops Forest Region. These districts (or parts of them) were amalgamated to form the Okanagan Shuswap Forest District in 2003, and continued to manage the existing tenures in the new District.

The series includes a variety of forest tenure records, including tree farm licences, replaceable forest licence cutting permits, timber licence cutting permits, licences to cut, non-replaceable timber sale licences, replaceable timber sale licences, woodlot licences and special use forest use permits. Files contain forest development plans, management plans, legal documents, annual reports, operations information and a TFL management plan recreation analysis report. Records regard the issuance, evaluation, administration, monitoring, planning, replacement, cancellation and extension of forest tenures

Records in these files include licences, correspondence, maps, photos, road permits, annual reports, inspection reports, pre-harvest prescriptions and assessments, cutting permits, licence replacements, licence applications, silviculture prescriptions, harvest inspection reports, status clearance forms, logging plans and records regarding cancellation, extension of licences, and some archaeological impact assessments.

The majority of files consist of replaceable forest licence cutting permits. These files provide licences to harvest windblown salvage timber, harvest salvage from pine beetle infested timber, burn logging debris, clear timber for road right-of-ways, etc. Records include maps, silvculture information system definitions, silviculture and stand treatment reports, activity reports, amendments, burn plans, logging inspection reports, logging plans, harvesting reports and some photos.

Boundary District Police letter book and daily diaries

This series contains a letterbook and daily diaries from the Boundary District police force. The letterbook covers the period Dec. 27, 1905 to Dec. 13, 1907 (vol. 1). Daily diaries cover the period April 1, 1901 to June 30, 1908 (vol. 2) and April 26, 1911 to March 31, 1919. (vol. 3).

Volume 1 covers the entire province of British Columbia, not just the Boundary District.

Fruit tree pruning project notebook

This series contains a notebook of data recorded during a fruit tree experimental pruning project conducted in the vicinity of Vernon. The notebook includes photographs affixed to the pages. The notebook is believed to have originated from the Horticulture branch of the Department of Agriculture.

Okanagan Valley irrigation reports

This series consists of 16 volumes of reports on irrigation districts in the Okanagan valley from1926 and 1927. Volumes include one summary report for the Okanagan and two copies each of detailed reports on the following irrigation districts: Black Mountain, Glenmore, Naramata, Peachland, South East Kelowna, Vernon, and Westbank. The reports include a history of the project, and statistical information. There is also an appendix to the Scotty Creek irrigation district report included in the series.

Volumes 2-8 are signed by Major J.C. Macdonald, Comptroller of Water Rights and are illustrated with b&w photographs and have maps. The duplicate volumes 9-15 contain holographic alterations and are initialed by J.W. Clark, Inspector, Water Rights Branch.
