This series contains volume tables for coastal forest districts. Volume tables were used to determine areas of merchantable timber for possible issuance of timber sales.

Records consist of the fire-control equipment handbook (1946) and the radio handbook (1939) of the United States Forest Service. These manuals and the portable radio and fire-fighting gear were widely used by the B.C. Forest Service. Includes fire fighters' manuals (5 volumes, 1918-1942) prepared by the Western Forestry and Conservation Association and a catalog of portable fire fighting pumpers (1939).
This series contains records of the Public Education and Information Division. It includes a manual regarding procedures for highway sign crew to paint and maintain forest protection highway signs.
This series contains records of the Engineering Division of the Forest Service. Types of records include reports on the design and construction of a lake transporter for heavy vehicles (1961) and on the design, construction and operation of a raft for burning residual wood debris on lakes (1976), illustrated with photographs.
This series contains records from the Forest Service related to data management. It consists of a copy of Key to Forest Surveys Type Mapping, which sets out instructions for entering data for tabulation on Hollerith punch cards indicating forest cover on Forest survey maps.

This series contains materials for a high school vocational correspondence course in forestry designed in cooperation with the Dept. of Education. File 1 contains the original 1936 course with Paper 20 (Protection) revised as in 1940; Files 2-4 contains the course as revised in 1953; Files 5-8 contains the course as revised in 1964.
This series contains records of the Research Division of the Forest Service. Records include a report (carbon copy) on regeneration surveys carried out in 1962 by M. Crown, Forester-in-Training on Vancouver Island and on the Sechelt Peninsula, illustrated with hand coloured whiteprint map and a study of the survival rate of trees planted in the Southern Interior, an in-service reforestation report by M.B. Clark.

This series contains miscellaneous papers of Project 87. This project was established in 1981 to do research in preparation for the 75th anniversary of the Forest Service in 1987 and to facilitate transfer of archival records to the Provincial Archives. This series consists of papers and reports prepared, coordinated, or collected by the project. Contents are: (1) Working Paper No. 7, Historical headquarters staff and organizational tables, 1888-1979. (2) Catalogue of Original Timber Leases, 1870-1906, prepared by A. Lazenby. (3) Early history of the B.C. Forest Service, by D. Climenhaga. (4) Forest protection a government responsibility, a draft by Stephen Gray. (5) Protection as conservation - Safeguarding B.C.'s forests from fire, 1874-1921, by John Parmenter.

The series also includes a literature review of the dwarf mistletoes by Job Kuijt, 1954 and an interim report on studies on the characteristics and ecology of the root system of second growth Douglas fir, by R.G. McMinn, 1954.

The records include submissions missing from Royal Commission's records (see GR-0668), duplicates containing supplementary material, notations, remarks, or amendments not found with the originals, and submissions in a different format than that with the original.
This series contains records related to civil service specifications for positions in the B.C. Forest Service. Information captured in the records includes job classifications and descriptions for foresters, forest agrologists, surveyors, carpenters, clerks, forest assistants, conservation officers, and other positions with the Forest Service.

British Columbia. Nelson Forest District (1913-1978)
This series contains log books of Forest Service launches "M.V. Salt Mist" and Landing Craft (L.C.) No. 5, as well as materials relating to the construction, maintenance and registration of Forest Service vessels. Although the earliest records date from 1921, some of the vessels had been in Departmental Service as early as 1913. The series alsoincludes a file of 10 b&w photographs of a boat launch and marine station building.
This series contains official field diaries kept by Forest Assistant Ronald Bradley and Technical Field Officer R. Craigdallie while posted to the Barriere Ranger District (RD 3) from April 1964 through March 1965.
British Columbia. Kamloops Forest District (1913-1978)
This series contains course materials and student's notes by Gary Huva, later ranger at Blue River (R.D. 18, Kamloops Forest District), from the Forest Service Ranger School at Green Timbers, Surrey, B.C.
The series consists of Dominion Lands Branch timber berth administration files created by the Canadian Department of the Interior from 1896 to 1932. Timber berths were an area based system of timber tenure established by the Dominion (Federal) Government in 1872. Most of the records are on microfilm and arranged by land district and section. Records from the following land districts are included: New Westminster, Kamloops and Revelstoke.
The series also includes several paper files of similar records which were likely transferred to the custody of the Provincial government after the return of the railway belt. The records are primarily homestead inspection reports for timber berths. Other records include correspondence, applications, statistics on timber volumes and maps. The records are in no discernable order; they contain a variety of dates, names and timber berth numbers. Some of these records may be duplicated on the microfilm in this series.
