The item is a photocopy of a judgement of the British Columbia Court of Appeal in Attorney General of Canada et al. v. Gonzalves et: al.

The file contains two letters addressed to Osborn Danvers, the Telegraph Office supervisor at Bamfield in 1916. The letters are from his cousin Mark Osborn of Bedford, England. In them, Mark Osborn describes his visit in 1866 to Victoria and Esquimalt aboard H.M.S. Alert and discusses the war.

The file contains correspondence with Donald Alexander Smith, 1st Baron, Strathcona and Mount Royal and includes a letter from 1900 about the Victoria Public Library's refusal to accept a catalogue of Greek coins and a letter and cable to Mayor of New Westminster re the Provincial Exhibition, 1908.

The file contains material related to Seaman George Stevenson including bill of sale for the sloop "Kingfisher", miscellaneous notes, fragments of correspondence and newspaper clippings.

The file contains two volumes of the reminiscences of Basil Oswin Robinson including "Memories of an old timer" (1972) and "87 not out" (1975). Mr. Robinson emigrated to Canada in 1909 and worked at Bamfield, Alberni, Buntzen Lake, Nanaimo and Vancouver. He served with the British army during the First World War and then taught school in Vancouver.

The file contains a short biography and newspaper clippings relating to the life of David Mark Carley, compiled by W.D. Carley.

The file contains reminiscences of life and business activities in Comox, Nanaimo, Cape Mudge, and Cortes Island by Michael Manson, a merchant and politician.
