The commissioner, Vancouver barrister Henry Osborne Alexander, was appointed to investigate the actions of past and present Boards of School Trustees of the City of Vancouver with regard to purchase and sale of school sites and school property, the purchase of furniture and supplies and generally all matters coming under the Board's jurisdiction. He was to investigate also the personal actions of all Board members, officers and employees, and appointments made by the Board.

This series consists of records of the Royal Commission on Electoral reform, 1978-1979. Records include exhibits, transcripts of evidence, correspondence, subject files, abstract of evidence, subject index and master index to exhibits and witnesses, circulars, Opinion poll questionnaires, Interim Report, list of maps, and a preliminary report on "Redefinition of Electoral Districts and Boundaries" to his honour Judge L.S. The finding aid consists of a brief file list and two appendices. Appendix 1 is a list of electoral districts, intended as an aid to access to the correspondence files (boxes 6 and 7). Note that exhibits presented at Hearing 41 (61A, 65A, 114B, 117B, and 170-180A) and Hearing 44 (186 and 187) were read into the record by the Commission Secretary.

These include their submissions to the Commission, responses to the Commission’s final report or general information about the professions and issues impacting their work.

Records created by the Ministry address specific recommendations from the Commission to improve Ministry of Health policies and practices. Issues were divided into the following working groups:

Working group 1 (W1): better management
Working group 2 (W2): regionalization
Working group 3 (W3): governance of professions & financing

These files include correspondence, reports, planning documents, policy documents, meeting minutes, statistics, maps, journal articles, newspaper clippings, work plans, and agendas. Issues addressed in the file include managing health information, immunization, sexually transmitted diseases, and healthcare regionalization and governance models. Records culminated in responses to the Commission’s recommendations and a series of discussion papers.

This series consists of records of the Public Inquiry Into Matters Concerning the Conduct of the Business of the City of Port Alberni, 1950. The records consist of transcripts of evidence presented at the hearings. In the transcript (pp. 224-225), the commissioner noted that the conduct of the affairs of the city disclosed "an utter lack of appreciation on the part of appointed and elected officials of the implications present when sound principles and statutory requirements are not followed".
