The sub-series consists of 157 assorted drawings and illustrations. Some of these were created by Ted Noram at some point around the mid-20th century. Many of the illustrations are signed by the artist. The subject matter consists mostly of drawings of Indigenous tools, botanical drawings, and Indigenous people of Canada. The images include illustrations made for the books Edible Wild Plants and Native Tribes of Canada, both written by John Douglas Leechman.

The series consists of records created by Emily Sartain. Almost all of the records were created or collected by her between 1932 and her death in 1990. Records dated after her death comprise of a magazine article from 2014, and someone's reminiscences of Sartain dated 2010.
The textual records include 15 notebooks which Sartain used to record her paintings that were created, commissioned, and sold between 1931 and 1990. Other textual records include a scrapbook of the Fareham Banner (UK), some biographical information, correspondence, and poetry, some written by Sartain, and some by others. Also within the series are 138 photographs, both in colour and black and white, from around the early 1940s to the late 1980s. Some of these have been given item-level descriptions. The colour photographs will be digitized and placed into cold storage. The black and white photographs are available for access.
