The file consists of 540 individual postcards that were created by the artist collective BOXCARSIX in the Victoria region during the COVID-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2021.
Postcards from the Pandemic is a collaborative mail art project of over 900 postcards that were created by artists in and around Victoria, BC in the depths of social lockdown created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was begun in March 2020 by members of BOXCARSIX Artist Collective to stay connected during lockdown. Each artist initiated a series of postcards leaving space in each one for another person to add and respond to. Each card was then mailed on to another artist to add to and potentially complete the postcard.
Each postcard has been assigned its own unique PDP number and is stored in its own folder. See finding aid for container descriptions.

The item consists of Emily Carr's steamer trunk, which contained the papers and other material transferred to Ira Dilworth's custody following her death. The trunk is made of wood with a canvas lining and papered interior. The trunk has three labels on the exterior, indicating that Carr used it as a travel trunk: one from a San Francisco Transfer Company; Canadian Pacific Express; and a baggage label from the Pacific Coast Steamship Co. There is a handwritten note pinned to the interior lid of the trunk, which reads: "At my death please send this box and contents intact to Mr. Ira Dilworth Canadian Broad-casting Corp. Vancouver B.C. Emily Carr."
Within the trunk was a burlap sack with an additional note of instruction to forward the contents to Ira Dilworth following her death.

Many of the illustrations are signed by the artist. The subject matter consists mostly of drawings of Indigenous tools, botanical drawings, and Indigenous people of Canada. Item is a short sword and leader scabbard with silver locket. Locket is inscribed with A.N. McL monogram and MacLeod crest. The maker's mark is on the opposite side, Prosser, Charing Cross, London. Original description indicates the Hudson's Bay Company coat of arms was inscribed on the item in addition to the MacLeod crest but the Hudson's Bay Company coat of arms does not appear on the item.
