Dirk Fraser was a student at Vernon Preparatory School, 1938-1941, and Magee High School in Vancouver, 1941-1943. This collection includes his 1941-1942 diary, his letters home to his mother and sister 1940-1941, letters to him from friends 1942-1943, his sketch books and school work books and a game he invented. Photographs transferred to Visual Records accession 199205-011.

Series consists of original civil orders and judgements created between 1922 and 1941 by the Penticton Supreme Court. Orders are the formal expression of the ruling of the court and judgements are the final orders issued in a case. Records relate to a variety of civil matters including divorces.

This series contains records pertaining to the Southern Okanagan Irrigation Project at Oliver, B.C. Types of records include a bound report which includes contract specifications, a project summary, tenders, memoranda of agreement, cost data, minutes of meeting of the West Kootenay Power a-ad Light Co., rate schedules, correspondence, energy consumption tables, plans and photographs. The original report was prepared in 1923 with various records added periodically until 1940.

Series consists of articles, typescript drafts, essays, biographies, notes, clippings, etc. relating to Alaska, the history of British Columbia, historic sites in British Columbia, Indigenous people of British Columbia, the pelagic sealing industry, etc. The series also includes invitations to events and 124 black and white photographs, mostly of Smith's time in Japan and China.

This series consists of one cause book from the Vernon Supreme Court for civil cases between Sep 1914 and May 1937. Cause books provide the skeletal framework for Supreme Court civil action proceedings and may include the names of parties, the dates when proceedings occurred, and can be used to determine a volume and folio number for locating final orders. Subjects include a variety of financial matters, divorces, probates and estate administration, adoption orders, and other civil cases.

Provincial Police Court record book from Phoenix (October 1910 - March 1918), Fairview (July 1921 - February 1925) and Oliver (April 1925 - April 1931) showing name of prosecutor, name of defendant, nature of the charge, costs, name of arresting officer, name of gaol or lockup, order or conviction, amount of fine, name of presiding magistrate or justice and "remarks".

This series consists of records of the Water Commissioner, Fairview, B.C., related to water rights, 1873-1929. Contains copies of water grants, applications, indentures, expropriations, agreements, letters inward from the Comptroller of Water Rights and Deputy Comptroller 1919-1923; and water rights determinations by the Board of Investigation. Also includes water rights records pertaining to the Grand Forks Water District, Osoyoos Water District and the Okanagan Valley generally.

This series consists of Forest Protection Plans, 1929, by S.E. Marling (288 pp.). Includes information on ranger stations, buildings, boats, equipment, fire lookouts, organization, trails, forest cover, causes of fires, and list of settlers with telephones.

The series is a register created by the Water Rights Branch from 1927 to 1928. It documents reverted lands in various irrigation districts and drainage areas in the Okanagan valley, including the Vernon, Kelowna, Westbank, Peachland and Grand Forks areas. Lists lands reverted to the Crown for non-payment of taxes and includes legal descriptions, name of last owner, acreage, amount irrigable, assessed values, etc.

List of those fined before the Summerland Police and Small Debts Court for using domestic water outside a building for watering other than during the hours between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., August 28, 1928. The list gives names and amounts of fines, court fees, legal fees and mileage fees.

This series consists of 16 volumes of reports on irrigation districts in the Okanagan valley from1926 and 1927. Volumes include one summary report for the Okanagan and two copies each of detailed reports on the following irrigation districts: Black Mountain, Glenmore, Naramata, Peachland, South East Kelowna, Vernon, and Westbank. The reports include a history of the project, and statistical information. There is also an appendix to the Scotty Creek irrigation district report included in the series.

Volumes 2-8 are signed by Major J.C. Macdonald, Comptroller of Water Rights and are illustrated with b&w photographs and have maps. The duplicate volumes 9-15 contain holographic alterations and are initialed by J.W. Clark, Inspector, Water Rights Branch.

This series includes registers relating to Crown Grants, Similkameen Division and Osoyoos Division, Yale District (2 vols.) Volume 1 is a register of Crown Grant applications forwarded to Victoria and includes date and disposition of application, name and address of applicant, legal description of land, Crown Grant number. Volume 2 is a register of Crown Grants and includes date of notice, number of grant, legal description of land, payment schedule, disposition and Grown Grant number. The registers are arranged chronologically.

This series consists of the operational records of the Vernon Forest District, 1913-1924. Records include operational correspondence files of the District Forester relating to forest fires, timber marketing, timber scaling, timber marks, and forest protection generally; forest fire reports, logging inspection reports, patrol diaries, and financial records. Records also include personnel files, including six photographs.
