The item consists of a composite print of a travelogue made 1965-1966. It contains scenic and recreational attractions of the Cariboo-Chilcotin, from Cache Creek and Lillooet to Barkerville. Footage includes: Pacific Great Eastern trains in the Lillooet-Fraser River area; Lillooet First Nations dip-net fishing and drying salmon along the Fraser; the "Maggie Mine" and The Chasm, natural geological formations; sequence showing a dude ranch (the Flying U Guest Ranch?) with guests on a trail ride; trout fishing at Tatla, Nimpo and Puntzi Lakes in the Chilcotin; cowboys on a cattle round-up; Williams Lake Stampede parade and rodeo; flora and fauna (including wild flowers, waterfowl, beaver, moose, deer, mule deer, eagle); boating on Bowron Lakes; sequence about Barkerville (pre-restoration), showing old buildings and a service at St. Saviour's Church.

Logger sports, Gold River

The item is a reel of film out-takes from ca. 1971. Well-shot footage of a logger sports events at Gold River, possibly marking the B.C. centennial in 1971. Includes footage of speed chopping, pole climbing, pole sawing, log rolling, bucking, and axe-throwing, as well as shots of the crowd and of children cooling off in the log-rolling pond. This footage was selected from the out-takes of the BC government travelogue "Island Eden."

Peachtime in the valley : Penticton, British Columbia

The item is a film print of a travelogue made in 1951. It depicts the Hope-Princeton Highway and the Penticton Peach Festival and Rodeo. Footage includes: Manning Park and highway scenes en route to Penticton; Peach Festival parade (including girls' pipe band); crowning of Queen Val Vedette; festival midway; harness racing. Rodeo events include pattern riding, bronco riding, calf roping, bulldogging steers and bull riding. Also lake shore and orchard scenes. BC highway construction is promoted in the commentary.
