The series consists of nine maps created or acquired by the Taxation Branch in 1935-1936. The plans were used to show the new Victoria Assessment and Collection district created October 12, 1936. The maps are printed copies of those published by the Canadian Department of National Defence in 1935. The printed maps show surveyed land lots, land district boundaries and district lots and blocks within E&N Rly. land grant. The maps were mounted on cardboard and some have been annotated with pencil to show names of property owners and boundaries.

The nine maps are as follows:

This series consists of 46 volumes of the Victoria County Court Registrar's daily diaries, 1906-1935.

Creditor's relief procedure book (indexed); includes the file number, name of claimant, name of debtor, chronological entry of proceedings, amount of the debt, and costs.

This series consists of 19 volumes of Victoria Supreme Court daily diaries, 1907, 1910-1912, 1916-1919, 1923-1932, 1934. Volume 1 includes weather reports as well as matters of the court.

The fonds consists of business and personal correspondence, documents, and photographs created by or relating to the Smith family of Victoria between 1860-1932. Included in this fonds are contracts, receipts (MS-2703), a journal of 1863-1864 bakery deliveries (E/B/Sm6), and photographs of the M.R. Smith & Co. bakery (MS-3458), founded by M.R. Smith; a scrapbook created by Selina Smith between 1895 and 1932 of correspondence, calling cards, and documents pertaining to her music students (MS-1992) as well as photographs of Selina and her students (MS-3458); Hamilton Smith’s business papers for M.R. Smith & Co. as well as reports, offer of lots for sale (MS-2703), and photographs of the Smith family businesses, employees, friends, homes, and places in Victoria (MS-3458); and photographs of Victoria taken ca. 1895 by Garrett Smith (MS-3459). Also includes a one-page letter from Philip R. Smith to his father, William Smith in 1860 (E/B/Sm6).

This series consists of the records of the Commission on Mount Douglas Park, 1930-1931. Unit consists of Letters Patent appointing the commissioner, correspondence, exhibits, notes, photographs, submissions and the report.

The fonds consists of a watch repair record book and a watch sales record book of Little and Taylor Ltd.

The fonds consists of annual reports and correspondence of Victoria Wineries and Brentwood Products.

The series consists of records created by the Superintendent of Provincial Police between 1917 and 1929. The records relate to the Victoria district and "A" division and contain files relating to various acts including the Sheep Protection Act and the Poll Tax Act from 1917 to 1921; vouchers and correspondence re vouchers from 1917 to 1925; and vouchers and miscellaneous letters from 1928 to 1929.

The series consists of records created by the British Columbia Provincial Police between 1877 and 1925. The records relate to the Victoria district and include the following: Police and gaol diary, 1877; Provincial Police record books, Jan. 1894 to Nov. 1898; office diaries, 1911 to 1914 and 1921 to 1924; report book, 1916 to 1925; files relating to informations, warrants and depositions, 1893 to 1909; and deposition case files from 1919 to 1923 and 1925.

The series also includes correspondence files from Otway Wilkie, Senior Police Constable, Victoria, dated 1922-1923. This position is also referred to as the Officer commanding “A” Division. “A” Division of the BC Provincial Police Force included subdivisions for the Victoria and Vancouver regions, but had its headquarters in Victoria. The Senior Constable may have been located in the same office as the Police Superintendent, which was responsible for the entire province. Many records are to or from the Superintendent or include stamps from the Office of the Superintendent. These records include circulars, correspondence, game reports, coroner inquisition records, reports on various crimes. Correspondence may be with other police officials or from public reporting or providing information on crimes.

There is also a scrapbook of newspaper clippings from the Vancouver Daily Province from 1927-1928 created by the Victoria Criminal Identification Department. The clippings relate to a variety of crimes reported in the paper. They are arranged by date and indexed by name of the individuals in the paper. The scrapbook was likely used as a reference for tracking repeat offenders.

The fonds consists of account books of the Thoburn Grocery.

The series consists of naturalization applications and oaths of allegiance issued by the Victoria County Court between 1859 and 1917; 1926. They are arranged numerically by file number from 1 to 4118 and include oaths of allegiance from 1859 to 1865 and applications and oaths from 1871 to 1917; 1926. The files may also include oath of residence and certificates of naturalization.

The fonds consists of incoming letters and bank statements.

The series consists of correspondence inward created by the Victoria Supreme Court registry between 1889 and 1925. The correspondence is arranged by date and sorted alphabetically within each year by the name of the correspondent. The files include letters from the Attorney-General and government offices, law firms, Police Departments and other individuals and businesses. The files contain letters, government circulars, requests for information, statistics, judgements and other records.

Minute books for civil and criminal cases. There are a few actions involving ships marked Vice-Admiralty Court and Exchequer Court, B.C. Admiralty Division.

This series consists of Victoria Police Court record books, 1890-1924; magistrate's cash books, 1865-1871, recording fines and trade and liquor licenses; and a transcript of Regina vs. Lawrence, ca. 1896.

Records relating to surveys and surveyors field books. Consists of a register of surveyors' field books on Vancouver Island, especially Victoria district; an alphabetical street index to surveyors' field books for the City of Victoria, and miscellaneous correspondence pertaining to surveys. Includes record of surveys done since 1858.

Includes Free Miner's Certificates, 1897-1912; Special Miner's Certificates, 1899-1906; Leave of Absence permits, 1895-1906; mining receipts, 1897-1903; Crown Grant fee receipts pursuant to the Mineral Act, 1911-1918.

The fonds consists of a minute book from meetings of the Board of Directors and general meetings of the British Canadian Fire Insurance company.

This series contains naturalization records which include correspondence, certificates, lists of naturalizations and Oaths of Residence from the Victoria Court Registry. File 2 shows numbers of naturalizations from many British Columbia Court registries, 1893-1899.

This series contains criminal case files under the "Speedy Trials Act". May include transcripts and Police Court proceedings.
