Volume 1 is indexed, lists 15 constables active in 1911 for South East Kootenay Police District, gives a newspaper clipping describing the naturalization procedure and contains the following oaths: the King's Oath or Chicken Oath (used by Chinese), the Oath of Interpreter, Affirmation, Oath of Foreman in Civil Jury trials, Oath of Jurors, Oath of Stenographer, Japanese Oath, and the witnesses' oath in French and English. Volume 2 lists 14 constables active in 1916 in the South East Kootenay Police District and the oaths.

Fort Steele mining recorder records
The series consists of records created by the Fort Steele Mining Recorder between 1895 and 1918. The records cover the area surrounding Fort Steele and along the St. Mary's River in the Fort Steele Mining Division of the East Kootenay District. The records include applications under the Mineral Act for mining claims and certificates of work; notices from miners filed with mining recorder; and transcribed copies of mineral claim transfers and conveyances, primarily in the form of bills of sale.

This series consists of registers used to record land assessment values from 1900-1912. All records are likely related to the Kootenay, Similkameen and Okanagan areas, primarily around Osoyoos to Trail. The registers were likely created by the local Government Agent or Assessor for the provincial Surveyor of Taxes as part of the creation of property tax assessment rolls. The registers list the property description, owner, value. Some volumes may also describe the property’s assets, such as buildings, cultivated land, orchards, available water, available timber land, roads, distance to schools or post offices.

Certificates of Improvement, numbers 1-95, with duplicate numbers 17, 36, 75, 77-79, at the front, for the West Kootenay District showing statement of, and witnesses to, the required improvements being completed, prior to the issuance of a Crown Grant. Information includes the names of the occupier and the witnesses, the number of the pre-emption claim, legal description and geographical location of the land, and the dates of the pre-emption claim and the completion of Improvements. An alphabetical index is included in this volume.
