Journalism and essays

Series consists of articles, typescript drafts, essays, biographies, notes, clippings, etc. relating to Alaska, the history of British Columbia, historic sites in British Columbia, Indigenous people of British Columbia, the pelagic sealing industry, etc. The series also includes invitations to events and 124 black and white photographs, mostly of Smith's time in Japan and China.

Kaslo papers

Series consists of minutes of the Kaslo Miners' Union, the Kaslo Fire Brigade, the Kaslo Board of Trade, the Kaslo School Board, and papers relating to the London Hill Development and Mining Co., the Shutty Bench Land Development Enterprise, an account book for a dry goods store, a history of mining in the area, Master's and Pilot House Log books for the S.S. Moyie, and daily guest registers from the Adams House and Kaslo Hotel.

Ker family business and personal records

Series includes correspondence, diaries, personal and business records of R.H.B. Ker, including papers of his grandfather, Robert Ker, and father, David Russell Ker.

The records consist chiefly of correspondence arranged by Ker alphabetically by subject. In addition, R.H.B. Ker preserved some of the papers of his grandfather, Robert Ker, who served as Auditor General in the colonial Government of Vancouver Island and British Columbia, and his father David Russell Ker, who was president of Brackman and Ker Milling Company Limited, and who retained some of the records of this company. These records are contained in boxes 25, and 30-33.
