One is dated 1888-1889 and provides details of Powell's time in France, which he spent at Royat-les-Bains and the surrounding area. The other diaries are undated, but document Powell's activities in British Columbia. The two undated diaries name several Indigenous individuals and make note about Indigenous trades, artifacts, ceremonies, and day-to-day affairs. The diaries cover many parts of the province, including Fort Simpson, Quatsino, Chemainus, and the Nass River.
