The series consists of one indexed cause book on microfilm (1901-1959) and one unindexed volume (1959-1977). The volume running from 1959 to 1977 has a sheet of paper in the front listing divorces found in the ledger. All other cases are unindexed.

This series contains Cranbrook court registry correspondence with the Dept. of the Attorney-General. It includes some Magistrate's and Police court records.

Registrar's record books for civil and criminal proceedings in both County and Supreme courts. Volume 1 is indexed, lists 15 constables active in 1911 for South East Kootenay Police District, gives a newspaper clipping describing the naturalization procedure and contains the following oaths: the King's Oath or Chicken Oath (used by Chinese), the Oath of Interpreter, Affirmation, Oath of Foreman in Civil Jury trials, Oath of Jurors, Oath of Stenographer, Japanese Oath, and the witnesses' oath in French and English. Volume 2 lists 14 constables active in 1916 in the South East Kootenay Police District and the oaths.

The series consists of letters of administration and letters probate from Fort Steele, 1906-1909 and from the Supreme Court of Cranbrook, 1906-1978. It includes Form A, Form B, and Form C, each arranged by date of filing. Form A are grants of letters probate in which the deceased individual named the executor of their estate in their will. Form B are grants of letters of administration in which the deceased left a will but named no executor, or the executor was unable to fill the role, so another individual is named. Form C are grants of letters of administration in which the deceased left no will (died intestate), so an individual is named as executor.

The file consists of the reminiscences of Frederick William Adolph who operated a lumber mill at Baynes Lake in the Kootenay district in the early twentieth century; photocopy of marriage certificate, 1861, of Frederick Adolph and Margaret Lamont, parents of F.W. Adolph and genealogical notes by Valerie Adolph.

Collected for the 1958 Centennial, this material consists of typescripts, newspaper clippings, photographs and signatures. The collection addresses most aspects of early life at Nakusp and district including railway construction and maintenance, recreation, sawmills, steamboats and church history. The focus is on the people of the district with lists of residents and thumbnail sketches of individuals and families.

The item is a copy of the reminiscences of Freeda Bolton, entitled "Happiness is remembering." It includes memories of growing up in Nelson before the First World War; biographical information on her parents, John Fred Hume and Lydia Jane Irvine Hume. Illustrated with numerous photographs.
