The fonds consists of 28 letters written by J.R. Davidson to his parents between 1894 and 1915. The senior Davidsons lived at Muirhouse, Davidson's Mains, Midlothian Scotland. The first letter, from 1894 is from when Davidson was at Eton School. The next two letters are from August 1907 when Davidson was on board the R.M.S. Corsican, emigrating to Canada. The rest of the letters date from 1910 to 1915 and give details of Davidson's commercial operations as the owner and proprietor of the Art Emporium in Vancouver. The letters to his father deal mainly with the financial aspects of the business while the letters to his mother focus on more personal matters.
The fonds consists of journals of the sealing schooner Juanita, including one kept by Charles C. Clarke from 1887-1889, and another from an undetermined date. Also includes ledger of Juanita, likely of the same time period.
Judge's inscribed copy of Herbert Broom and Leonard Shelford, The Practice of the County Court (London, England, 1858). The volume contains inscriptions in the handwriting of P.J. O'Reilly and W.G. Cox, as well as artwork by Cox. The inscriptions say: "Government of British Columbia Magistrate at Fort Hope" and "Government of British Columbia, Cariboo East, 1863". The volume is bound with an animal skin spine.
The collection comprises 21 films shot or produced between 1931 and 1949, mainly by the Photographic Branch of the British Columbia Government Travel Bureau. It includes prints of ten early BCGTB productions -- one silent and nine with sound -- as well as some reels of silent miscellaneous footage shot by the BCGTB. The completed BCGTB productions include travelogues about Vancouver Island, Qualicum, the Fraser Valley, the Okanagan Valley, the West and East Kootenays, the Bulkley/Skeena Region, and the route of the Pacific Great Eastern Railway, as well as films about BC's mining and tourism industries. Other reels show activities of the Canadian Scottish Regiment, based in Victoria; the Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco (1939); military parades in Victoria during World War Two; and outdoor activities such as hunting, skiing and trail riding.
The fonds consists of radio programs and other sound recordings produced by Hesse, including interviews, speeches and radio programs, primarily for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Vancouver.
The series consists of five slide shows created in 1977 by the Ministry of Attorney General. These slide shows are concerned with the information system aspects of the Justice system's responsibilities including administration, courts, police and corrections and the use of geographic base files. The series also includes scripts for the slide shows.

The series consists of copies of calendars for various county court sessions held between 3 July 1912 and 4 February 1914. The records list the number of the suit, the style of cause, and any remarks, such as whether the case was adjourned or if an appeal had been made. The cases listed in the calendars relate to those listed in the plaint and procedure books described in GR-1652 and were held before Judge Swanson.
