Thie series consists of an extensive collection of stock shots, depicting a wide range of B.C. Forest Service and Ministry of Forests activities and related subjects. Compiled from footage shot for a variety of purposes, the material was retained for potential use as stock footage in BC Forest Service and Ministry of Forests film productions and TV spots. Some footage was also loaned out for TV news use.

This series contains the operational records of the Kamloops Forest District relating to range and timber management. The records include correspondence files pertaining to improvements, pest control, public sustained-yield units, timber berths, tree farm licences, farm woodlots and timber marks. Some records were inherited from Cariboo, Vernon and Southern Interior Forest Districts, and from the Canadian Forestry Service during its administration by the Railway Belt.

This series contains files from the Public Information and Education Division. The records consist of correspondence of the Minister of Lands, Forests and Water Resources on controversial matters including: multiple use in the Nitinat Triangle (1972) and Fry Creek (1972-1973) areas, and the Eden Fire (1973-1975). This series also contains the report of the Committee for Ranger District Organization (1976) which was appointed as a result of the Eden Fire controversy.

[Planting, Kamloops district ; Mica pondage clearing]

Stock shots. First section shows crew planting bullet seedlings with planting guns and with dibbles, as well as some bare-root planting. The second section shows the clearing of land in the area to be flooded by the Mica Dam, using caterpillar tractors, Euclids, chain saws, etc. Tree are felled, piled, and the slash and debris are burned. Also includes views of the dam under construction, and of waterways and lakes in the area.

Stock shots. Includes footage shot from a bird-dog plane, showing its crew observing a forest fire and airtankers dropping on it; crew mixing fire retardent; dispatchers in office; suppression crew preparing truck and en route to forest fire; airtanker drops; heavy equipment; etc.

This series contains official field diaries kept by Forest Assistant Ronald Bradley and Technical Field Officer R. Craigdallie while posted to the Barriere Ranger District (RD 3) from April 1964 through March 1965.

This series contains general correspondence files regarding Provincial Forest Reserves coded MFR Supervision according to the Forest Service filing system described in Operational Manual with instructions to Forest officers ... (Victoria, 1942), pp. 109-110, 341-353. For a copy see GR-0944, Box 1. Files containing this code pertain to all correspondence and reports dealing with Forest Reserves, policy, methods of classification for Reserve, regulations, Orders-in-Council establishing boundary surveys, etc.
