Present to sign BC's North East Coal Fields Agreement, to provide BC develoment with federal government assistance are: Otto Land, Federal Minister of Energy and Mines; BC Premier Bill Bennett; Jim Chabot, BC's Minister of Mines; and Don Phillips, MLA for Dawson Creek and Peace River. Phillips says this development will permit BC to provide a greater amount of the coal consumed by metallurgical industries world-wide.

Owen; his work with the Boy's Brigade; first boys' summer camps on Bowen Island 1906; St. Mark's summer camps at Lions Beach in the 1;920s; St. Mark's Church in Kitsilano; early Kitsilano; life in the community; Mr. J.Z. Hall and family; growth of the area and the Sam Greer land dispute. TRACK 2: Reverend Sovereign continues with ;recollections about the J.Z. Hall home in Kitsilano and Mrs. J.Z. The item consists of a release print of an industrial film, made between 1963 and 1967. It shows the planning, construction and official opening of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam at Portage Mountain on the Peace River. Includes discussion of the geology of the region.

This series contains the records of the Gold Commissioner, Government Agent, and Assistant Land Commissioner, Cariboo District (Quesnel). The records consist of lot registers, certificates of purchase, certificates of pre-emption, registers of pre-emptions (canceled and allowed), registers of land applications and lands purchased, register of leaves of absence granted pre-emption on active service, minute books containing lot register of lands along the route of the Pacific Great Eastern Railway, and registers of hay and pasture land leases. The series also includes townsite registers for Quesnel, Barkerville, and Wells and lot registers for some townships in the Peace River Block. Volumes 89-98 and 153-158 are oversize.

RECORDED: [location unknown], 1979-07-25 SUMMARY: Mr. Bruce tells of his education in Victoria. The difficulties of getting a school in those days; getting school at Upper Pine (1938-39); took train there, with 40 teachers going north. Describes country, ranchers, boarding place, social life, poverty, types of food. The school's part in the community. Organization of school district in the Peace River block. One-room schools had some advantages, but mainly considers that education is better in consolidated schools. He became a principal and superintendent of schools in the Kamloops district.
