Volume consists of signed oaths and certificates pasted into an index volume. They give name of Stipendiary Magistrate; name of Special Constable; name of Railroad; date; signature; and location.

Smithers Police Court record books

This series consists of three record books from the Smithers Police Court, from 1926-1956. Many charges related to offences allegedly committed by Indigenous people under the Game Act for hunting, fishing and trapping.

The first volume is an offence book, presumed to be from the Smithers area. Only the first 8 pages are used. They cover September 1926 to December 1928. Recorded information includes the complaint, action and result.

The second volume is Provincial Police Court Record Book from November 1926 to December 1956. The years 1926-1929 cover the Fort Fraser and Fort St. James areas. The book then continues in Smithers for the years 1940-1956. Recorded information includes date, name, charge, information on charges, fines and remarks.

The third volume is a criminal record book showing date, name of BC Police informant, accused, charge, plea and fine levied. It is mostly in the hand of Harvey Davies (Stipendiary Magistrate), October 1947 - December 1950.

Volume 1, the register, Nos. 1-3773, 1908-1954, is arranged chronologically and shows the names, place of residence, occupation, date of registration renewal and satisfaction as well as the nature of instrument (Bill of Sale, Chattel Mortgage, or Assignment). Inside the front cover is a sample of the authority for Chattel Mortgages and Bills of Sale. Volume 2 is the index to volume 1, arranged alphabetically. Case files from 1909-1921, to which these volumes apply are found in GR-2518.

Prince Rupert Forest Region forest tenure records

This series consists of records related to forest tenures from the Prince Rupert Forest Region, 1968-1980. It had been previously known as the Prince Rupert Forest District. The Prince Rupert Forest Region has included a variety of different Ranger Districts or smaller Forest Districts over time. The records in this series relate to the Burns Lake Ranger Office, South Bank Ranger Office and Lakes Forest District (near Ootsa Lake or the Nechako Reservoir). Note that the names and boundaries of districts and regions varied over the years.

These records include the following types of forest tenures: cutting permits, timber sale harvesting licences, timber sale licences and special use permits. Each file relates to one forest tenure.

The records regard the issuance, evaluation, administration, monitoring, planning, replacement, cancellation and extension of forest tenures. Many of the records consist of waste assessments, logging inspections and maps. There is also correspondence, permits, licences and other operational and legal records.

The ministries responsible for Forest and Range Districts, and the years that they were responsible, are:

Parker Bonney report

This report to the Forest Branch of the Dept. of Lands, is part of a series of initial surveys of forest-land, a programme commenced by the Branch in 1912. Bonney's report covers parts of the Nass and Skeena watersheds and was completed at a cost of 43.58 cents per square mile. As well as reporting on standing timber and forest industry potential, Bonney includes forestry problems, agriculture, sail studies, fishing, mineral resources, geology, topography, water power, communications and climate. Notes are included on methodology and impressions of Indians and white settlers . An index and a map of the project area will be found at the start of the reel.

The series also includes a copy of the Report on British Columbia for Royal Colonial Institute (for use in British elementary schools), 1884.

This series contains a Mining Records Register Book. This volume is a register of various land grants, mineral claims, mining records, and water rights. Included are a record book of all claims and water privileges recorded in the Leech and Sooke River districts commenced December 1864 (1864-1878), and a register of all mining records and mineral claims recorded at Victoria, B.C., by the Chief Gold Commissioner, 1873-1911. Areas covered include the Queen Charlotte Islands, Cassiar district, and portions of Vancouver Island and the adjacent coast of British Columbia. Also included in this volume are the following items relating to the Royal Engineers in British Columbia: (1) List of men of Royal Engineers who purchased their discharge in British Columbia or Vancouver Island on the return of the North American Boundary Commission to England, 26 Sept. 1863. (2) Schedule of Crown Grants issued to Royal Engineers who served in the Colony of British Columbia under Colonel Moody.
