The series consists of correspondence inward and outward of the Secretary of the Bureau, R.E. Gosnell, 1895 - 1898. It also includes statistical returns from various municipalities in the province, 1897-1898, which are arranged alphabetically by the name of the municipality.

Howay's history book, "British Columbia: From the Earliest Times to the Present" (1914). The correspondence is mainly addressed to Scholefield over his tardiness in completing his manuscript.

Records include correspondence, directories, advertisements and pamphlets relating to the diamond anniversary of Canadian confederation.

Holmes and other land surveyors; also letters from former members of Provincial Library and Archives staff. Several letters addressed to Miss Russell, who collected and preserved correspondence as a war memorial.
