This series consists of letters inward to the Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works, 1871-1883. Letters are arranged by file number. These letters were selected for transfer to the archives in 1937 and therefore do not appear on the microfilms of Lands letters inward that were made later.
The fonds consists of correspondence, letterbooks, diaries, commissions, notes and memoranda, some records relating to his service with the Hudson's Bay Company.
This series consists of four volumes of Dominion of Canada registers of rain, snow, weather, miscellaneous phenomena and extreme temperature. Each volume covers a year from 1880 to 1883. The registers were created by the Meteorological Office of Canada and cover Lillooet.
This series consists of correspondence relating to the Royal Columbian Hospital. Contains copy of printed "Report of an investigation held at the Royal Columbian Hospital on the 13th day of February, 1883."

This series consists of various records related to the collection of road tolls along the Cariboo Wagon Road from 1862-1883. The collection of tolls for the road from Lytton or Lillooet to Alexandria began in 1862 pursuant to BC Proclamations 3 and 4, 1862. These tolls were later revised by legislation in 1876 and 1884.
Locations tolls were collected include Yale, Lillooet, Alexandria, Lytton and Clinton. The position of toll collector was often done by government officials holding other positions, including government agents, police constables, clerks and revenue officers. Some volumes include other financial information from these government officials, such as expenses and salaries from the government officials. Volumes may record freight or other items being transported up the road.
The fonds consists of a notebook, diaries, correspondence, and receipts of Lomas, primarily pertaining to his role as Cowichan Indian agent. Fonds includes bylaws governing life on the Cowichan Indian Reserve, petitions by residents, letters, an attendance register of the Cowichan Indian School and subscription lists for a hospital.
This series consists of civil cause books from the Supreme Court of Vancouver Island, 1858-1870 and Supreme Court of British Columbia (Victoria), 1870-1882. All volumes are indexed. From 29 October 1866 fees relating to these cases are entered in the mainland fees book.
The series consists of contract records created by the Dept. of Lands and Works in regards to the Esquimalt Harbour Graving Dock. The files include specifications, bills of quantities, forms of tender, etc. for contracts 1, 2, 4, and 5.

This series contains correspondence between Amor De Cosmos, as Special Agent to London, and others, respecting the Petition of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, to the Queen, on the subject of the Canadian Pacific Railway from March 22nd 1881 to August 31st 1881. The series includes a printed copy of B.C. legislature's petition to the Queen, along with a manuscript copy of the Canadian Pacific Railway memorandum on "Vancouver Island Railway," December 1881. De Cosmos' map showing CPR terminus at Port Moody, alienated railway land on Vancouver Island, proposed ferry routes, etc. were transferred to PABC Library & Maps Division under accession M889117.
The fonds consists of photographs depicting the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Pacific Section, including views of landscapes, tunnels, structures, construction workers, First Nations along the route, and portraits of the Onderdonk family, business associates, and friends.
This series consists of a report of the Minister of Finance regarding the municipal boundaries of Surrey and Langley, and a report of a theft of public funds from the office of the Government Agent at Yale.
