400.8 OCC - from 1997

File consists of records pertaining to activities of the Oblate Conference of Canada (OCC). Records include correspondence, meeting minutes, guideline documents, OCC General Assembly reports, OCC restructuring documentation, prayer texts, a "Report on the Kenyan Mission" (2000) from the OCC General Assembly in Richelieu, and related material.

400.14 Native Res. Schools

File consists of records relating to Indian Residential Schools (IRS), IRS settlement agreements, and OMI efforts toward reconciliation.

File includes printouts of two message threads from the Port Alberni Online community forum page, both regarding the 2004 sale of the Beaver Creek Elementary School Building to Kakawis Family Development Centre (now named Kackaamin Family Development Centre, and relocated from the previous site of the Kakawis Residential School on Meares Island to Alberni Valley). Additionally included are correspondence sent from Kakawis Family Development Centre and newspaper clippings regarding the sale of the Beaver Creek School.

The file also includes: copies of newspaper articles collected between 1995 and 2003, regarding Oblate residential school involvement; correspondence sent and received between 1995 and 2001, including from the Anglican Church of Canada, from the Office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and from the Ktunaxa/Kinbasket Tribal Council; and a newsletter from the National Catholic Working Group on Native Residential Schools.

Also included in the file is a photograph with the title "Our Kakawis Curtain," noted to have been "presented to Kakawis by the clients in the March-April session of 1988." The reverse side of the photograph contains detailed annotations.

St. Paul’s Friday Fax 2003-2004

File contains St. Paul’s Province Friday Fax newsletters. The last issue of the St. Paul’s Province version of Friday Fax was published on 5 December 2003; Friday Fax newsletters published after 5 December 2003 were published by the BC/Yukon Community of OMI Lacombe Canada. File also contains two copies of a letter with the subject line “Kenya Christmas, 2003,” and a copy of “March News from Puerto Rico, 2004.”

File contains records pertaining to the novitiate period of the OMI formation process. Records include: meeting minutes and reports of the St. Paul's Province Formation Board, the Interprovincial Scholasticate of St. Paul's, St. Mary's Assumption, Grandin and Manitoba Province; various reports and financial records; appointment petitions for St. Charles Interprovincial Scholasticate; ephemera; and correspondence. Correspondence records include letters sent from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Novitiate and from the St. Charles Scholasticate, among other correspondents.

File consists of records relating to the 34th General Chapter of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, which took place from August 30 to September 28, 2004. Records include: news articles and other printouts from the official website of the OMI General Administration (omiworld.org); correspondence from the Office of the Provincial of St. Paul's Province; a list of electors/delegates in St. Paul's Province; straw vote documents for electing a "Brother delegate to the Chapter, 2004"; and a "Point of Reflection" pamphlet from the General Chapter. The file also includes the text of the General Chapter's Opening Eucharistic Celebration, the "Address of the Lay Associates," an information sheet on "Parish Ministry and Youth Ministry," and a variety of other related documents.

File consists of records related to the Canadian Religious Conference/Conférence Religieuse Canadienne (CRC). Records include: statutes, by-laws, and other administrative documents; forms and questionnaires; job descriptions; texts of community addresses; correspondence; and ephemera.
