Series consists of coroners' inquisitions (inquests) conducted in British Columbia for 1938-1967.

The series consists of three albums containing postage stamps, arranged by theme. The first album, entitled "Silver Jubilee Commemoration" contains postage stamps of the British Empire and celebrates the 25th anniversary (May 6, 1910) of King George V and Queen Mary. The second two albums are entitled "Canada Historical" (volumes 1 and 2). Volume 1 contains Canada postage stamps dating from 1870-1908, however it may have been compiled by Draycott in 1936 or 1937. It was exhibited at the Canadian National Philatelic Exhibition in 1937. Volume 2 was compiled in 1936 and exhibited at the Pacific International Philatelic Exhibition in 1938. Supplementary correspondence, clippings, and exhibit catalogues for each are included among the documents.

Series consists of original decrees nisi, decrees absolute, and divorce-related orders created between 1974 and 1983 by the Supreme Court Unified Family Court at Surrey. Between 1968 and 1985, a judgement by way of decree nisi required a three-month waiting period before a judgement by way of decree absolute could be applied for. During this time, a divorce was not legally in effect without a decree absolute. Some adoption orders are interfiled with the divorce records.

The records are arranged by volume and folio numbers, as assigned by the Court Registry. Not all volume numbers were assigned, but there are no gaps in the records. The records were scheduled for full retention under Court Services ORCS (schedule 100152) 51440-25.

The series consists of ca. 1000 photographs. They include prints, postcards and negatives of soldiers, family groups and holidays. The negative albums are indexed.

The series consists of an assortment of over 600 black and white photos and negatives, largely attributed to Ernest Crocker. Many of these are of familiar Crocker themes, such as World War One, houses and buildings in Victoria, portraits of families and individuals, as well as scenic photos, taken largely on Vancouver Island, but also British Columbia as well as overseas. In addition, there is some ephemera in the form of postcards, advertising brochures, correspondence to Ernest Crocker, sales receipts with regards his many clients who purchased his photos, as well as his price lists. Within the series is the embossed metal stamp for 'Trio'.

Other material within the series consists of items that was apparently collected by Crocker during his lifetime. This includes correspondence and postcards, photos by other photographers, and a piece of artwork by John P. Peters.

Given the large volume of other Crocker material in this fonds, it is possible that there are duplicates of some of his photos (notably those relating to WW1), within this series. There is also material that is unique, however, such as the 'Trio' stamp, his correspondence, and order slips.

The dates of the series are from 1887 to around the end of World War 2 in 1945.

The fonds notably consists of military-related content from the early 1900s until the 1940s. Pre-WW1 photographs include a limited amount of photographs relating to the Canadian Militia. Photographs taken during the First World War including most departures of troops by ship from Victoria and other departures by train from Vancouver and Vernon. There are also images of numerous B.C. training camps which cover topics from training exercises, inspections, mascots and portraiture. For material covering the inter-war and Second World War, images are predominantly of ceremonies, visiting military dignitaries as well as of graduations and groups of soldiers who trained at the Officer’s Training Centre in Gordon Head. There are also photographs of the Women’s Army Corps and of various legions following the end of World War II.
The next largest group of photographs is a collection of city views, natural landscapes and other tourist-centric photography which Crocker used to make postcards which he sold. These cover large Canadian cities but also various stops along the CPR route through the Rocky Mountains, as well as other locations on Vancouver Island, across BC and down the west coast of the United States and even Mexico.
Other potential series in the Ernest Crocker fonds include portraiture, tableaux vivants, Royal Visits, celebrations and parades, and sporting events.
Also included is some ephemera, Trio postcards, correspondence, sales receipts, and an embossed seal with the Trio stamp.

The collection is presently arranged by size and to some extent format. Containers are not organized by date nor by topic and appear to be mixed throughout the collection. The majority of photographic records appear to have been created in Victoria and the surrounding area, with additional photographic records covering Vancouver Island, the British Columbia Interior, Winnipeg, Toronto, London UK, California, U.S.A., and Mexico.

This series consists of land registers for various areas on Vancouver Island and some Gulf Islands. Records cover the following Land Districts: Bright, Cedar, Cranberry, Mountain, Nanoose, Nanaimo, Wellington, Comox, Douglas, Clayoquat, Nootka, Oyster and Chemainus. Records cover the following Islands: Valdes Island, Thetis Island, Kuper [Penelakut] Island, Mayne Island, Prevost Island and Gabriola Island. Earliest entries began in 1855 and all volumes were superseded by 1942 (i.e. no further entries were made after 1942).

The registers list the land in numerical order, usually by Range and Section, but occasionally by lot. There can be up to three methods of land description within one Land District. Information may include the name of purchaser, dates and number of certificate issued (including Crown Grants), dates and amounts of payments, and reference numbers to correspondence files and field books. The volume contains an index to districts by page number, and an alphabetical index to grantees.

This series consists of the records of the Public Works Engineer related to the construction, renovation and maintenance of courthouses and other government buildings, such as gaols (jails), lockups, hospitals, and government offices. The records date from 1900-1907. The majority of the records are correspondence to and from the Engineer. Other types of records include: tenders, contracts, financial records, lists of supplies, specifications, architectural plans, blueprints, sketches, maps, and other plans.

The records cover public buildings in the following locations: Alberni, Ashcroft, Atlin, Chilliwack, Comaplix, Creston, Fernie, Golden, Grand Forks, Greenwood, Lillooet, Moyie, Nakusp, Nanaimo, Nelson, New Westminster, Poplar, Port Simpson, Princeton, Rossland, Sandon, Trout Lake, Vancouver, Vernon, and Victoria.

The records had no discernable original order. The Archivist has arranged the records alphabetically by the name of the relevant town, then chronologically.

This series consists of records related to the construction and maintenance of the Leech River ditch, flume and dam, also known as the Leach ditch from 1866-1867. The majority of the records are correspondence to and from BW Pearse, Acting Surveyor General for the Colony of Vancouver Island. Other records include contracts, reports, and financial records.

Contains an autobiographical history of Anderson 's activities with the Hudson 's Bay Company (1831-1854), and includes journals of trips from Kamloops to Fort Langley, 1846 and 1847; biographies of H.B.C. personnel; and a chapter on "Missionary enterprises for the instruction of the natives, schools, languages, etc.."

The fonds consists of 85 cans containing ca. 320 (approximately 36,000 feet) film elements created by Bob Elliott's company Telefilm Services Limited between 1949 and 1973. The film elements are a combination of original and edited film footage including prints, positive pictures, negative pictures, A&B rolls, outs and optical tracks. The majority of the elements have not been copied onto a viewable format and are inaccessible.

A wide variety of local, industrial and promotional subjects are included, as are television commercials and news clips.

The sub-series consists of films produced by or for the British Columbia Electric Company during the years 1945-1961. There are films on all of the company's major engineering projects from that period: all phases of the Bridge River hydro-electric development; construction of dams, power plants and transmission lines throughout the Lower Mainland; and the laying of undersea power lines to Vancouver Island. Most of these "project films" are detailed and technical in nature, intended mainly for an engineering audience. Other titles, created for public relations use, promote BC Electric transit, natural gas and home electrical services. A few, such as GARDEN RENDEZVOUS, VACATION TIME and VANCOUVER DIAMOND JUBILEE, do not relate to BC Electric operations, but were sponsored and distributed by the company for general interest.

The series consists of 22 episodes of the French-language public access cable television program "Le Club Canadien-francais". The program was produced by Victoria Cablevision Ltd. (later Rogers Cable TV Victoria) in conjunction with Le Club Canadien-francais de Victoria, and was telecast from 1977 to 1983. Most of the programs feature "Chez Nous", a sub-series that presented news, music and dance performances, and other information of interest to Victoria's Francophone community. There are also a few special programs, including episodes marking Christmas, Canada Day, and the repatriation of Canada's Constitution, or dealing with French immersion in BC schools.

The finding aid provides a detailed description of each of the 22 programs. The descriptions, in both French and English, includes the program title, credits, broadcast/production dates, content details and cue notes. Each program description is followed by transcript of the program proceedings in French. These descriptions and transcripts were produced by Laurette Agnew of La Societe francophone de Victoria.

The fonds consists of films of MacMillan Bloedel's logging operations and mills. The greater part of the collection comprises printing elements, sound tracks and prints created or acquired by MacMillan Bloedel Ltd., and its predecessor companies, from 1934 to 1974.
Predecessor companies include Bloedel, Stewart and Welch Ltd. and the Powell River Company.

Much of this material represents the company's use of film and television to present its products and educate the public about the importance of the forest industry and forest management principle.

The series consists of the general office files of the Minister of Economic Development and their predecessor, the Minister of Industry and Small Business Development. The records were created and received between 1984-1986 in British Columbia. During this time period, Grace McCarthy served as the Minister of Economic Development (1986) and Robert McClelland was the Minister of Industry and Small Business Development (1984-1985). These records document the key functions and activities of the offices of the Minister of Economic Development and the Minister of Industry and Small Business Development such as developing BC’s economy, improving BC’s competitiveness, and supporting BC's small businesses.

The records are arranged alphabetically by subject. The file titles include a unique alpha-numeric code. The series consists of correspondence, subject files, and speeches. They were classified under the following one-time schedules: General office files of Grace McCarthy, Minister of Economic Development (schedule 870752) and General office files of Bob McClelland, Minister of Industry and Small Business Development (schedule 860721).

Series consists of three registers of applications for Crown grants documenting the final transfer of ownership of land from the Crown to the applicant. This is a central register for the entire Province of British Columbia, and is arranged alphabetically by last name of the applicant. The register also includes a description of the district and lot, the date, and the name of the person who submitted the application to the central office (often a government agent on behalf of the applicant). The series also includes two volumes of mineral claims.

File consists of an empty photograph album and loose photographic prints. The prints were presumably removed from the album, however the captions in the album do not match with the content of the photographs. It is possible that the album was re-used to house the photographs described below or that there is no relation between the empty album and the photographic prints.

The majority of the photographs of views taken along the Canadian Pacific Railway, and include shots of hotels and scenery. There are also photographs of Victoria and various other settlements and nature views. Many photographs include captions printed onto the photograph, some of which also include an "R. Maynard" signature line. Not all photographs are identified. Photographs that have an identified date are from 1881, however the majority of the photographs are not dated. Most of the photographs do not include people, however Joe Maynard (file 6) and Hannah Maynard (files 66 and 67) are identified.

The series consists of the executive records of the Minister of Tourism created between 1986-1989 in BC. During this time period, the ministry was known as the Ministry of Tourism, Recreation and Culture (OIC 1908/86), the Ministry of Tourism and Provincial Secretary (OIC 1988-1312), and the Ministry of Tourism (OIC 1577/89). The minister at this time was Bill Reid who was in office during Expo 86, the World’s Fair in Vancouver. Records, mainly correspondence and subject files, cover the province’s arts, culture, and tourism sectors. Some files provide evidence of the promotion and encouragement of the tourist industry such as Expo, the cruise ship industry, BC ferries, and the Molson Indy, while others document cultural and heritage services such as heritage conservation and museums. The series also includes files related to recreation and sports, the film industry, and BC Lotto.

The records are arranged alphabetically by subject. Most files are also assigned an alphanumeric file code. They include incoming and outgoing correspondence of the minister’s office, meeting materials, cabinet committee and other committee records, records of boards and organizations, various publications and brochures, and news articles. These records are covered by the Executive Records schedule (102906).

The series consists of the Deputy Minister of Tourism’s general subject files created between 1976-1989 in British Columbia. The records were created and received by the Deputy Minister’s office responsible for the tourism function that underwent the following name changes: Ministry of Tourism and Provincial Secretary (1988-1989), Ministry of Tourism, Recreation, and Culture (1986-1988), Ministry of Tourism (1980-1986), Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Small Business Development (1979-1980), Ministry of Tourism and Small Business Development (1978-1979), and the Ministry of Provincial Secretary and Travel Industry (1976-1978). These subject files document the development, implementation and evaluation of the programs and services of the Ministry and inter-ministry relationships and the decision-making process within the Ministry. Some of the project files relate to Expo 86; committee and board and commission records document the involvement of the Deputy Minister. Some of the Deputy Ministers during this time period were Michael Horsey, Grayden Howard, and Mel H. Smith.

The series is arranged alphabetically by subject. They consist of correspondence, committee records, board and commission files, project files, speeches, press releases, brochures, reports, memoranda, and policy statements.
