Item consists of a charcoal sketch of the head of an unidentified man dated October 12, 1893 by Sophia Pemberton. This was undertaken in life class while she was attending the Westminster School of Art in England.
Item consists of a charcoal portrait of a man wearing clerical garb. Cardinal by Sophia Pemberton, 1890. The sketch was undertaken while she was attending the Cope School of Art, London England.

Pages of poetry includes "The Olsson Student" which refers to a separate series of images (PDP06117 to PDP06124) created by Carr, presumably also in 1904 depicting Carr's life in St Ives 1901-1902. Sketches and cartoons set in both Vancouver and Victoria are also included here.

Item consists of two portrait studies on one sheet, of two young girls by Sophia Pemberton. The sketches were undertaken in England and consist of the heads of two people. The upper one is identified as Beatrice Florence Greenstock and dated July 21, ca. 1899, and the lower one is identified as Rose Butcher and dated June 22, 1899.

Item consists of two portrait studies on one sheet, of an old man and a young girl by Sophia Pemberton on June 23,1899. The sketches were undertaken in England and consist of the heads of two people. The upper one is identified as Blind Thomas, and the lower one is identified as Rose Butcher.

One sketchbook with 21 drawings by Emily Carr. The drawings include figure studies, cartoon drawings and document activities in 1902 at art school in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England. They do not include her 1901 sojourn in Bushey. Some cartoon sketches may convey domestic incidents while boarding in private homes and include incidents concerning her landladies. One sequence appears to date from after her return to Victoria, 1904. There are also a number of poems written by Carr, notes and text that provide context for these and other sketches in the Carr fonds. The sketches include cartoon drafts for other finished works.
