50th Gordon Highlanders; ceremonial uniform

Photograph depicts an exquisite uniform worn by officers of the 50th Gordon Highlanders. It includes a scarlet doublet with buff facings, leather cross and waist belts, gold buttons, glengarry with feather, tartan plaid, sporran with black tassels, hose and spatz. Officers bought their own full dress uniforms, Highland ones being some of the most expensive designs.
