Photograph depicts two full length portraits of soldiers taken at Willows Camp. In the first photo, the soldier on the left is wearing the standard Other Ranks Service Dress, including the Canadian-made 7-button jacket and Service Dress Cap. The soldier standing to the right of him is wearing a Highland uniform. This included the British pattern khaki Highland cut-away 'doublet' jacket with five buttons, khaki kilt apron with integral pocket (replaces the sporran in tradition Highland dress) and a Balmoral for headdress. Tartans were removed from kilts sometime during the war as they were costly and difficult to supply. Both carry swagger sticks.
