The series consists of the commission appointing Hugh Archibald Maclean to investigate the Eureka, Chess, Elks, Union, Playgoers and Railway Porters Clubs (1905). Records include the Commissioner's report (1905), transcript of evidence (1905) and exhibits presented. Exhibits include six minute or record books of the Eureka, Chess and Elks clubs dated 1901-1905.

The series consists of Attorney General correspondence regarding C95 (criminal prosecutions). Some files date from as early as 1938 but the bulk of the series is from 1966-1970.
