RECORDED: Oyster River (B.C.), 1971-03-03 & 17 SUMMARY: In an interview with Helen Mitchell and Rose McKay, Cecil Eric (Tom) Galley recalls how his parents and family settled at Knight Inlet and later on Harbledown Island on the BC Coast in the 1890s. Logging in the area. The McCrimmon family. The pre-emption on Harbledown Island. Dick Pattison. Schooling on Harbledown and at Metlakahtla and New Westminster. The magazine consists of vignettes of school life, humorous anecdotes and cartoons. Also includes a water colour painting of the "Old High School" (i.e. Victoria Common School, 1851) and an ink drawing of "new" Victoria High School.
