The fonds comprises photographs of and by Henri Dumas, taken in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, North Vancouver, and France. They show local scenery, as well as Mr. Dumas' family, business activities, and horses. One group of images shows the Hotel Capilano and the horse-drawn coaches taking tourists to and from Capilano Canyon.
The fonds also contains 12 pages of photocopied textual material, which was given the MS accession number 86-053. This material includes: a handwritten biography of Henri Dumas by his son, A. Dumas; a prospectus for J.Z. Lajoie Co., Limited of LaJoie Falls, B.C., a company that Henri Dumas was involved with in 1914; an indenture for sale of land; unidentified documents in French; and a letter to Kathryn Bridge, Visual Records Divsion, PABC, regarding the Dumas photographs.
