The series consists of case files for criminal cases heard under the Speedy Trials Act at the Fernie County Court, 1905 to 1962. Criminal case files may contain the notice of claim or notice of petition, writs and affidavits, orders and a final judgment
The series consists of general correspondence files created by the Dept. of Public Works between 1910 and 1970. The files are concerned primarily with Provincial Government buildings including the Parliament Buildings, Provincial Archives, Provincial Museum, as well as jails, courthouses, hospitals, office buildings, etc. throughout the province. The series also contains files relating to the control of Japanese nationals during World War II.
This series contains operational records from the District Forester's office and Ranger Districts 3 (Barriere), 4 (Kamloops) and 22 (Kamloops North) including material relating to grazing, timber management, tree farm licences, fires and forest protection. Provincial Police Court record book showing name of prosecutor, name of defendant, nature of the charge, costs, name of arresting office, name of gaol or lockup, order or conviction, amount of fine, name of presiding magistrate or justice and "remarks".
Series consists of one cash book arranged chronologically with columns showing date, plaintiff, defendant, amount of claim, judgment, fees paid and remarks.
Register of criminal cases. This register is a combination of written and typed loose pages listing criminal cases heard in County and Supreme Courts. The earliest entry is 1954, giving the name and file number, additional information is: name of Crown Counsel, bail (yes or no), date of election, date of trial, nature of the charge, sentence and remarks.
Letters of administration for estates probated by the Official Administrator for the South Okanagan Electoral District, Charles Hill Jackson (1946-1956) and Elmer Ross Oatman (1956-1959).
Chronological file of "Court Circulars" numbered (1-149) received by the Princeton Government Agent. There is an item list in the first folder. Included are memos from the Chief Justice (John Farris) and from the Director of Legal Services (J.V. DiCastri); copies of Orders-in-Council, correspondence, copies of reasons for judgment, etc. All pertain to the administration of British Columbia courts and gaols.
Firm index book (vol. 1) and individual index book (vol. 2) with registrations #743-1554. The entries give the registration number, the name of the firm, the names of persons composing the firm and the date of the declaration. There are annotations of dissolution date in red ink.

The series consists of Land Settlement Board Lien notes (#60-681) registered in Cumberland Court House from 1920 to 1922. A lien is a registered legal claim on personal property, most often used as security or collateral for a debt or loan. Individuals borrowed money from the Land Settlement Board for a term or 1, 2 or 3 years at 7 or 7 1/2% interest in order to purchase cattle, horses and wagons.
This series contains time statements, bills and time book for wages and hours for Project 3, North Barriere Lake Trail and Ranger's Monthly Service Report on Clifford McLane concerning the construction of a trail to Baldy Lookout.
British Columbia. Kamloops Forest District (1913-1978)
This series contains records relating to Whalen Pulp and Paper Mills Ltd. Records include copies of leases and legal documents filed against the company's licences and leases, including wood pulp, booming ground, and quarry leases. Filed with the Minister of Lands.
This series contains records relating to the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway Belt and the Canadian Pacific Railway terminus at Burrard Inlet. The records consist of correspondence, memoranda and other records from the Lands Department. Central files are extracted and filed separately (see f.1 for a list of the Esquimalt and Nanaimo files). These includes correspondence and plans of government reserves at Burrard Inlet and indenture of grant to British Columbia and Vancouver Island Spar Lumber and Sawmill Co., 1860-1866; these materials were filed separately as they pertained to lands comprising the Canadian Pacific Railway terminus at Coal Harbour.
This series contains lists of Vancouver Island settlers who made Crown grant applications under provisions of the Vancouver Island Settlers' Rights Act, 1904, and subsequent amendments. Information includes name, acreage, and legal description of lands.
This series contains departmental general correspondence files, 1917-1922, pertaining to Songhees land in Victoria. Files, which had been alienated from the Railway Dept. filing system (also see GR-0817) and transferred to the Dept. of Lands, include Railway file 53.3 "Songhees industrial leases", 53.4 "Foundation Company--Imperial Munitions Board" and parts of 53.5 "Johnson Street Bridge". The series also contains two agreements (1917, 1919) involving the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway.
