Invitation to a luncheon commemorating Victoria's 100th birthday.

Petition of the City of Victoria to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia requesting legislation to authorize alteration of the "City of Victoria Official Map Act 1880."

The item is a photocopy of "The election of Sir John A. Macdonald in the Victoria riding in 1878," prepared by Research Branch, Library of Parliament, Ottawa, in response to request by Allan McKinnon, M.P., Victoria B.C.

The file consists of a typescript copy of the reminiscences of Gerald Ross Hunter titled "Are we at the crossroads?" Mr. Hunter was born in England, emigrated to Wynyard, Saskatchewan, moved to British Columbia in 1937 where he and his wife operated a motel on Kingsway in Vancouver, and then lived in the Fraser Valley and in Victoria.

Account book for menagerie, museum and saloon operating in Victoria, 1876-1882. Household expenses for the family operating the establishment are also included. The museum and menagerie may have been the one opened by Mr. Bristol on Government Street in 1872. The collection includes feather and preserved snakeskin samples. The account book itself was a former ship's logbook and has records from the Trafalgar, 1857-1859 and the Anglesey, 1860-1861.

The item is a copy of "Me and my family", reminiscences of childhood and adult life in Victoria, Vancouver and the Gulf Islands by Mildred Irene Seymour, a Sidney teacher. Mrs. Seymour narrates many of her experiences as a teacher (teaching degree in Music) at Fanny Bay, Gabriola Island, Chemainus and Vancouver, describes her work with choirs and recounts her vacation travels through British Columbia, Canada and the western United States.

The file consists of a photocopy of Mary Isabella Roger's reminiscences of her journey to Victoria from England in 1885, and visits to Vancouver from Victoria including one made to see the arrival of the first transcontinental train.

The item consists of an essay written by Henrietta Jelinsk for history 303 in 1966. The essay is about the architecture of commercial and institutional buildings in Victoria between 1850 and 1908 and is illustrated with black and white photographs.

The item is a black and white photograph probably taken by Charles Macmunn in 1897 or 1898. It is taken from Christchurch Cathedral in Victoria looking towards James Bay and shows the new Parliament buildings and the birdcage buildings.

The item is a b&w photograph of an arch in Victoria erected to welcome the Marquis of Lorne and Princess Louise on a state visit in 1882.
