Cornelius Bryant emigrated from England in 1856. He taught school in Nanaimo from 1857 to 1870, and then became a Methodist minister, serving in that capacity at Nanaimo, at several places in the Lower Mainland and Lower Fraser Valley, and at Bella Bella, before retiring in 1893. Records consist of correspondence, 1859-1895, including letters of introduction, letters inward concerning family matters and expenses, letters outward concerning the New Westminster congregation and mission work among Natives in the Nanaimo area, and a letterbook, 1870-1895; diaries, 19 August 1856 - 1 February 1857, 1 January 1857 - 6 January 1860 [A01745] and 1 June 1895 - 31 December 1902 (in letterbook, 1870-1895); sermon notes; scrapbook.

Item consists of one bound volume measuring 30 x 79 cm. It contains 11 blueprints of varying dimensions and one map of the Fraser River and Burrard Inlet, as surveyed by Captn G.H. Richards and the officers of H.M.S. Plumper in 1859-1860. Each plan/map is numbered using white, paper labels adhered in the top right corner. Pages have been bound with the front cover at the back. Handwritten inscriptions repeat an abridged version of the title on the back cover. "Martin -J" is also written on front cover.

Records include Canadian clearances from Port of Victoria and Port of Burrard Inlet; United States Customs clearances from Alaska, Puget Sound, San Francisco, and Willamette Districts; and one clearance from the Republic of Chile. Also included are U.S. Customs Bills of Health from the District of San Francisco and manifests for the Str. Goliah; Ste. C. Walker; and Panther.

This series consists of printed records relating to the following court cases: the Attorney General of the Province of British Columbia versus Theodore Ludgate, and the Attorney General of the Dominion of Canada regarding ownership of Deadman's Island, Burrard Inlet.
Records include Attorney-General vs. Ludgate report by Robert Cassidy to the Attorney General for British Columbia on the appeal of the Dominion of Canada from the 1901 judgment of Martin, J. (Queen's Printer, 1904, 7 p.). The series also includes various exhibits and other records, such as exhibit 6, "Extracts from blue book containing papers relating to the affairs of British Columbia, 1859-1864" (pp. 307-307(81)); "Evidence before Full Court in addition to that taken at trial" and Exhibits V,W,X,Y (pp. 366-430); reasons for judgment of Chief Justice Gordon Hunter, Justice M.W.
