The item consists of one album of approximately 150 photographs depicting landscapes, architecture, and people in Malta, South Africa (Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, Table Bay, and Simon’s Bay), Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Victoria), and British Columbia (Hope, Yale, and the Fraser River). Photographs of British Columbia taken by Francis George Claudet.
All photographs have been captioned by the album creator. A paper bookplate has been adhered to the inside front cover depicting a heraldic badge containing the motto “forte scutum salus ducum” ("A Strong Shield is the Salvation of Leaders”, the motto of the Earl Fortescue peerage) with the name “Carlingford” beneath. It is probable that the album was created by or for Hugh Fortescue (16 April 1854-29 October 1932), the 4th Earl Fortescue.

Dickson [extract from Peterhouse magazine], The series also includes a letter to Ellen Laundy from James Cran, Alameda, California, 1883.
In addition, the series contains Bishop Cridge's book of common prayer titled "Fort Victoria."

This is a temporary file created to maintain a collection of item level photographs of unknown provenance. Each photograph has been assigned a reference code and an HP ("historical photograph") code. The photographs exist in multiple copies across various fonds and the creator has not always been determined. Specifically, all photographs contained here can also be found within MS-3324, which was previously described as "Dally Album 8" (MS-3100.8). The photographs were previously described under MS-3100.8 as item level descriptions.
Some of the items appear to refer to glass plate negatives in the Maynard collection, but may be original Dally photographs.
Alternate copies of the photographs can be found by searching the HP number. The source photograph (negative or print) for the digital copies available here has not been determined in all cases.

Entries appear to be in two different hands and on the fourth page, the page begins with the header "Stuarts Lake Journal" and all entries may be from Stuart Lake post. The entries document events like weather and daily activities. Individuals mentioned include Michel Lacroix, Tomma, and Michel Deschamp. The two last pages contain lists of places (Thomasson River, New Caledonia British Columbia, Stuarts Lake) and the name Charles G. Ogden.
