The series consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, clippings, photographs, and indexes created by Charles Norman Senior while private secretary to the Minister of National Defence, Ian MacKenzie; executive assistant to the Minister of Veteran's Affairs, Ian MacKenzie; and consular officer in the Department of External Affairs. The dates range from approximately 1900 to 1969.

Item consists of a mount of one group military portrait in front of an unidentified building at the R.C.N. Barracks at HMSC Naden. There are approximately five rows of unidentified men in uniform. "Robert Fort, Victoria, B.C. 8639/1" is captioned on the bottom left corner of photograph.

Service as Commanding General, Canadian Pacific Command: cooperation with the American armed forces; use of volunteers in the Canadian militia; training the soldiers; operations against Kiska. [Search and rescue -- Mother III]

News footage. A re-enactment of a Canadian Armed Forces search and rescue operation. On 15-Mar-1978, Doug Larden's fishing vessel, "Mother III", had an engine room fire en route from Vancouver Island to the herring fishery off Queen Charlottes. The crew was forced to escape by liferaft. Three days later, they were spotted by a Canadian Forces Argus aircraft and rescued by helicopter.
