The fonds consists of a photocopy of George Blair's diary describing the voyage from New York to New Westminster via the Panama Canal 1862-1863 , as well as his experiences in the Cariboo Gold Rush. Fonds also includes a transcript of the diary created by the Provincial Archives of British Columbia and an incomplete version of the diary arranged by Jane F. Yemen and published in the Daily Colonist, April 5-26, 1936.
Blair, George
The fonds consist of records created and/or collected by Robert Heddle, a miner and farmer in Nelson, and his immediate family. The records predominantly cover the management and operation of the Juno and Venus mining claims in the Nelson area, which Heddle managed. Additionally, the records also consist of those related to Heddle’s agricultural endeavors, including beaver fur farming and fish farming. The records also indicate some of Heddle’s personal interests and activities, such an interest in meteors and his patent applications. Finally, there are also some records of family members, including his wife (Agnes Heddle) and his daughter (Thelma Moon, nee Heddle) and son-in-law, James Thomas Moon.
The records relating to the operations of the Venus-Juno mining claims cover many different aspects of mining operations, and the records include: annual general meeting records of the Venus Gold Mining Company; records documenting the price and shipping methods of ore; mining equipment; maps of the mining claims
The records relating to Heddle’s agricultural work consist of water claims, applications for road access with railways, soil and water analyses, and a crown grant purchase.
Heddle (family)
The fonds consists of 15 journals, one notebook, and correspondence written by John Work. The notebook was written in 1834, and the journals extend from 1823-1835 when Work was traveling as a trader for the Hudson's Bay Company in the western US and western Canada area. These journals are arranged by date. There is an inventory of the journals and an original note by Work written in 1831.
The fonds also contains a 1945 transcription of Work's 13 May - 26 May, 1851 journal which was written while Work was looking for gold in the Queen Charlotte Islands.

The fonds consists of photographs of the firm, Muirhead Brothers Photographers, created sometime between 1900 and 1903. The photographs have been glued into two albums, each with the title "Views of Atlin, B.C." In addition, there are some loose photographs that may have been tucked into one of the albums. The content of the photographs include views of Atlin, B.C. and other areas, showing townsite and local mining operations.

Nichols and consist of contracts, correspondence and reports from 1922 to 1929 of the Eagle Lake Spruce Mills Ltd. in Giscome BC. There is also a photograph showing a forest fire at Giscome BC ca. 1928. This company was managed by W.K. Nichols. The fonds also includes financial records of Beaver Pass Gold Placers of Wells, BC from 1951 to 1967. This gold mine was owned and operated by W. Kimball Nichols and W.E. North.
