SUMMARY: "Between Ourselves" was a weekly series of hour-long radio programs that presented Canada to Canadians. SUMMARY: "Between Ourselves" was a weekly series of hour-long radio programs that presented Canada to Canadians. It featured aspects of Canadian life in docudramas, plays, music, and interviews, originating fr;om different regions of Canada. The series ran from 1966 to 1979. The first part of this episode is a conversation between Don Mowatt and James Fenwick Lansdowne, discussing Lansdowne's bird paintings;. Lansdowne's early background is explored, including his interest in birds, the selection of his specimens, and his interest in Audubon and his work. Edith Lansdowne and John Rogers, a Vancouver Sun; columnist, are also heard. The second part of the program features the musical composition "The Birds of Lansdowne" by Jean Coulthard, written for this broadcast. It is performed by the Indiana Arts; Trio at the Shawnigan Lake International Festival.;
