The 11th CMR band was described in the Daily Colonist (June 18, 1916) as "One of the finest in C.E.F. Forces". The band had a very diverse selection of instruments, including saxophones, clarinets, cymbals and xylophones.

Armistice Parade, 1918

Photograph depicts crowds of people gathering along Government Street for a parade acknowledging the end of the Great War. In this particular photo, a military marching band can be seen parading down the street. These men were at the time being mobilized at Willows Camp for the Canadian Siberian Expedition which was to persist despite the signing of the armistice. In the background, a few iconic businesses are in view including Two Jacks Dope Ltd, cigars and billiards, as well as the Imperial Bank of Canada.
