Docudrama. A former alcoholic recalls his reintegration into society through the assistance of the Vancouver Harbour Light Corps of the Salvation Army. Re-enacts the man's day-to-day existence on the streets of skid row, his drinking and panhandling, and his struggle to give up alcohol and regain his self-confidence. Highlights the spiritual and material support provided by the Harbour Light mission.

The file consists of a photocopy of reminiscences by Flossie Frewing titled "Saved to serve". Mrs. Frewing grew up on a farm near Melville, Saskatchewan where she joined the Salvation Army. Before her marriage to Captain Ronald Frewing in 1938, she served at postings in various Ontario and prairie towns. After their marriage the Frewings served in the Peace River, Estevan, Saskatchewan and North Vancouver. They retired to Victoria, B.C.
