File consists of one ledger book containing a list of officers, including their rank and home address. E.C. Hart is the first officer listed under rank of Lieutenant Colonel. The ledger also lists nursing sisters. Pages of the Courier newsletter is included at the front of the ledger, and features E.C. Hart.

Maps of Balkan regions

File consists of 8 military topographical maps of Balkan regions, including Salonika [Saloniki], Dzumaja, Bitola [Bitolj], Skopje [Skoplje], Edessa [Vodena], Egri Palanka, and provisional map of centre of Franco-British position at Salonika.

War bonds

File consists of 2 war bonds. One of the bonds is presented to Josephine Hart.

Miscellaneous documents : plans and photographs

File consists of three plans, four photographs, and four empty envelopes from Oakbay Beach Hotel and Brentwood College. The envelopes likely held photographs at one time, and are inscribed: G. Gillespie Esq.; Family in uniform; and Ian portraits (one envelope is blank).

There are four photographs in the file. Two photographs are dated 1933 from St. Michael's School, one is dated 1939 at Beacon Hill, and the fourth photograph is unidentified but depicts a bridge over a river.

There are three plans in the file. The first shows transmission line through South Half of Section No 14, Highland District (1912). The second shows Canadian Northern Pacific Railway, right of way through Sooke (1911). The third shows plan of subdivision, South Saanich (1913).

[Oversize photographs]

File consists of 3 oversize photographs: the interior of the BCLIA office; one portrait of Cuyler A. Holland (identical to I-61414); and one portrait of Arthur Richard Wolfenden (created by A.W. Easthope), Managing Director of BCLIA.

[BCLIA employees and offices]

File consists of five b&w photographs of BCLIA office interiors and employees. The fifth photograph (not digitized) consists of 1 b&w print of a silver tray presented to R.H. Shanks, Manager of the BCLIA, from Directors in London office. The tray is dated 1955.

Tranquille Sanatorium postcards

File consists of 8 colour postcards depicting Tranquille Sanatorium near Kamloops. Seven of the postcards are published by The Camera Products Company in Vancouver and one is published by Gowen, Sutton Company in Vancouver. All photographs were likely taken by Joseph Frederick Spalding, a photographer based in Vancouver who initially worked for Gowen, Sutton before establishing The Camera Products Company.

File consists of 6 b&w photographs, some of which are copyprints from BC Archives, City of Victoria Archives, and Bancroft Library at University of California Berkeley. Photographs have captions on verso provided by Edythe Hembroff-Schleicher. Photographs are of a painted portrait, memorial to Robert Burns in Beacon Hill Park, Nan Cheney and Emily Carr, Architectural Museum in London, Mark Hopkins mansion in San Francisco, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carr (BC Archives reference number HP024834, A-9184)

Adventures of a farm girl in Canada in 1925 / Joan Nina Simpson

The file contains "Adventures of a farm girl in Canada in 1925", by Joan Simpson, with a forward by her god-daughter, June Knowles. It consists of four reminiscences about life on a cattle ranch and in a fruit growing area of British Columbia by a young English woman who spent a year or two in British Columbia in the early 1930s. Although both personal and geographical names have been changed, the ranch on which Miss Simpson worked was undoubtedly the Church Ranch at Big Creek in the Chilcotin district.

Photos of Prince Rupert and Nanaimo

The file consists of 15 black and white photos taken in Prince Rupert and Nanaimo in the 1940s. They appear to have been taken by a few different unknown photographers, though one photograph was taken by William Walker Wrathall, a Prince Rupert photographer. Some of the photographs have titles handwritten in French, while others are printed in English.
