The item is a reel of film out-takes from around 1957-1961. The first ca. 525 feet of this reel shows bighorn sheep grazing, being corralled, and being herded into a truck container. The second part of the reel (ca. 575 feet) comprises (duplicate?) out-footage from the BC Government Travel Bureau film "Big Game Camera Holiday", including footage of caribou in summer and winter; bighorn sheep; mountain goats; moose; birds; flowers; and some aerial shots. Both sections show photographers "stalking" the animals with still and 16 mm movie cameras.

B.C. House in San Francisco

The item is a print of a promotional film from ca. 1965. Newton Phillips Steacy, Commissioner at BC House in San Francisco, California, is shown around and about the city promoting British Columbia.

Steacy proposed a promotional film about the work of the Commissioner and British Columbia House in San Francisco. He was to write the script, and some black & white footage was shot. The film was never completed. This reel (a copy?) has been supplemented with miscellaneous colour footage from various BC productions, to provide opening and closing titles.

British Columbia international trade fair : 1961 trade fair

The item is a composite print of a promotional film which depicts the 1961 BC International Trade Fair. Footage shows interior of exhibition halls, preparation of displays, special events; Premier W.A.C. Bennett at the fair; airliners arriving at airport; freighters unloading. Also promotes the forthcoming 3rd BC International Trade Fair in 1964. A French version was also released.

British Columbia waters : footage

The item consists of 40 reels of unedited film footage from 1969. The film was intended to deal with the subject of water in B.C., and was shot entirely in 35mm colour for eventual theatrical distribuion. This footage comprises about 18,400 ft. in total, workprint and negative rolls. Principal photography was carried out and the footage was workprinted, but the film apparently never progressed to the editing stage.

A date with British Columbia

The item is a release print of a film travelogue, made around 1958. It follows a visiting family on a camping trip in B.C. The cities of Victoria, Nanaimo, Vancouver, Chilliwack, Penticton and Kelowna are shown briefly, but the main focus is on the government campsites visited.

Drugs : public service announcement

The item consists of three reels of film elements that contain television commercials from 1971. Visuals comprise still photographs of drug pushers making their sales pitches. The voice-over tells us, "It's money that pushers are after -- not friends."

Kettle Valley

The item is a reel of unedited footage, from ca. 1982. Shot from a railcar travelling along the old Kettle Valley Railway line, this footage shows various trestles and tunnels on the line.

Kaleidoscope BC : unedited footage

The item consists of five original negatives and five workprint reels of unedited footage from 1982. The original footage comprises about 4,000 feet (ca. 01:51:00) in total. The footage, showing whitewater kayaking, was shot for an uncompleted film.

The item is a composite print of a travelogue from 1973. It is about British Columbia, as seen through the eyes of Chief Dan George. Includes general footage of B.C. scenery, lakes and rivers, Barkerville, a rodeo, ranching, recreation, the Fraser Canyon, Vancouver and Victoria.

The item consists of three reels of unedited film footage from an educational film, 1961-1962. It shows method of painting the highway center line, and its value to driving safety.
