This series consists of three volumes of record books from the Colony of Vancouver Island Police and Prisons Department, and later and Colony of British Columbia Police, 1858-1873. Records include an account book, 1858-1863 (contains also some fire department accounts); requisition book, 1859-1861; record of constable's clothing and advance warrants, police and gaol, 1866-1873.

Records include correspondence inward and tenders for Victoria Court House, 1900-1904, Government House, 1900-1904, and Parliament Buildings, 1900; specifications for Victoria Graving Dock; specifications and agreement for Lytton highway bridge, 1913; and weekly building progress reports, Government House, 1957 (reports 30-75 only).
This series consists of a record of land claims and government reservations, by William George Cox, Esq., Magistrate, Rock Creek, B.C., 1860-1862. Cox was the magistrate and Gold Commissioner for this area at the time. The volume includes descriptions of land claimed by settlers, as well as general government reserves and Indian Reserves. The back of the volume was used as a Sheriff's book for the County of Cariboo, and a police charge book, 1861.
This series consists of records of the Royal Commission regarding Saanich Secession, 1928-1929. Records of the commission include transcripts of proceedings of hearings, exhibits and the report.

Series contains the minutes of a public hearing on the application of the Northwest Power Industries, Ltd. for a water licence to authorize the diversion, use and storage of water from Atlin Lake and tributaries, held in Atlin, B.C., on August 16, 1955.
This series consists of personnel history sheets from the Department of Mines. Records includes a notebook, 1935-1937, with position, date of appointment, salary, place and date of birth, marital status, military service records, work experience, duties of position; and departmental organization charts, 1937, 1942. 1942 chart transferred to Map Division.
This series contains proceedings of the Forest Protection Officers' meetings held at Victoria: 11-13 December, 1962; 24-26 November, 1964 and 6-8 December 1966; Kamloops: 9-11 January 1968; and Victoria: 26-28 February, 1969; 8-10 December, 1970; 28-30 November, 1972 and 3-5 December, 1974. The purpose of these meetings was to improve techniques of the prevention and suppression of forest fires.

These files were for trade-schools that closed in 1968 or 1969. Their opening dates varied. They are arranged alphabetically by name of the school.
Contains land records file relating to the Vancouver Island Settlers' Rights Acts, 1903 and 1904. Includes correspondence, memoranda, reports, legal briefs and sketches pertaining to land disputes between settlers and the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway Company. File 145321/12, 1912 Series.
Series contains an annual return (1 page) pursuant to the Coal Mines Regulation Act of the Middlesboro Colliery, Nicola Valley Coal and Coke Company. Shows number of persons employed, methods of ventilation and extraction, depth of shafts, and total quantities of fresh air.
This series contains curriculum circulars containing announcements, changes, directives and rulings from the Division of Curriculum. These circulars were sent to all school principals with instructions that they should be kept on file and made available to all teachers. The circulars from 1949-1955 are indexed and arranged by subject. Removed from GR-1030 (B.C. Home Economics Branch), in 1981.
